So my buddy was having issues with that sump belt so he put some white paint marks in a few spots and then mounted a gopro pointed on it and it showed when he was on it the shaft with the pulley was moving because of chasis flex. Crazy idea but it worked!!!

Fixing an alignment issue is simple with a cheap laser level used for leveling suspended ceilings. Love the video 😂😂😂👍👏👏👏👏👏

The pump is bouncing. If the pump isn't sitting still on the mount the belt can mover around on the sheaves. With all that weight hanging off the back it has to be solidly mounted or it's going to bounce. One or both of the pulleys are moving in different directions. P.S. Hammer down Joseph (and Jesse). 1200 laps?? Man I'm a little overdue 😂my 413 wide bore has been in my car for 3 seasons now and on my down time I pull it out of my race car and put it in my Dodge power wagon and go to hog Waller mud Park 🤣🤣🤣 still fires right up when the starter works,I think I've changed the oil twice 😂

You have a fraction of an inch misalignment between the pump pulley and the flywheel. You're going to have fun figuring that out one step at a time.

The thickness of the mid-plate would be the only difference; did ya measure to check? Just askin'. If so, then either shim the pump or shim the pulley and/or clearance the bellhousing! It's kind of ironic that this was mentioned when they started having these belt issues that the new midplate and motor mounts had just been changed but there was absolutely no way they could cause any issues. It still needs to be verified that there's nothing else bent or broken under there causing the problem.

@@zterminatorxx6525 Small tracks or slick tracks don't need that much motor, though. In fact, in those conditions a big motor is just gonna spin 'em, and you'll actually go slower then you would with a less beefy (and probably lighter) motor.

Would it be possible to bolt the engine, plate, trans and oil pump together out of the car? Where you can check your alignment. I know it would be extra time,but I would rather spend more time than money. Especially when you still don't know if you've fixed your problem. But I'm just a dumb ole drag racer.
