There are still plenty of us who are very much European in the truest sense. And it's not just on the Iberian Peninsula where you can find admixture and people with darker features and such, either. You can find that everywhere in Europe these days. Ever heard of the "black Irish"? But let me ask you this, if you feel that we're all something other than truly European... She knows, it was the interviewer that seem not to know they are the same. The reason many Latinos don’t like to be called Mexican is because they aren’t Mexicans. Go to a Jamaican and call him a Trinidadian to see how that goes, and both are from the English-speaking Caribbean. But Latino encompass various nationalities and origins in Latin America. As for nationalities themselves, don’t call a Mexican a Guatemalan, don’t call a Panamanian a Colombian, don’t call a Peruvian a Chilean, etc and things will be good.

This was due it isn’t as common to see people like this in the USA. In Dominican Republic this is common and basically for the reason she said, people tend to be very mixed there. In a single family during a family party or reunion it feels like a reunion of the United Nations, except that in the DR many will be related to each other because they are family. Dominicans in the island actually think this is normal because of its normality over there, but in reality outside the DR there are few countries where the black-white mixture is so widespread in the population. DNA tests like 23andme brings out all the mixtures with the typical Dominican having double digits of African and European ancestry, plus a few more in the mix.

This is an interview done in English in the USA by an African American. It goes without saying that he’s referring to American blacks and they do have their own culture different from all the other black peoples in this world. African American culture has variants including the inner city ghetto type. That’s the variant even non-ghetto African Americans dislike because it keeps people in poverty due to its way of seeing things. African American culture isn’t just that variant, so the whole notion that ‘black culture is no good’ seems silly. What variant of black culture are we talking about?
