I like Marsch’s personality. I agree with his risks and strategies. He has done very well considering he was thrown into the fire with matches against Netherlands, France, Argentina and then Peru. Most Managers would have started against the minnows in concacaf. I remember after the match against Netherlands he stated what to improve and he executed those changes perfectly in the next match against France.

Tomorrow will be a true test of what Marsch can bring to the table as a manager. The jury's still out for me if he's actually the right guy to lead us into WC26, but I was impressed with his willingness to make changes during the Peru match at the half. We have the quality to get the result tomorrow. We just need to be set up tactically to do so.

I was the same about Herdman way back when, and when we saw results it quenched my concerns... glad so far all of Herdman's culture has created an environment for Marsch to thrive in

Love the content KJ! Would love to see an interview with Luc De Fougerolles at some point if possible too. We really don't get to see of hear much from the guy, but he's a super promising prospect imo

We're much better organized defensively. All I heard about Jesse Marsch was high press, doesn't sub early, rigidity. We press less with Marsch than we did under Herdman. We're far less open to counter attack under his system. We do close space and press in certain situation, but we also lay back in others. Davies at left back realizing clean sheets are critical, yet Davies is still getting forward. Marsch is incredibly cerebral. We are so lucky to have him. We all learn from out mistakes and experiences. Marsch has no doubt made mistakes. He's had the experiences at the highest levels to learn from. Now Canada benefits.

Interesting... It's not the USMNT missing Marsch, rather, Marsch dodging a bullet of a mis-appropriated culture down there. I seriously hope they have a statement victory on Saturday. And that both Mexico and Jamaica take an L on Sunday (oh boy, would I love a Venezuela-Canada match) And because I'm petty, hope that US lose to Uruguay on Monday!!! eheheh The dream would be getting some revenge on Argentina - a goal at least. It would make the country buzz in anticipation of World Cup. This will change the narrative in the sports landscape in the country - and draw the attention away from Euro to something more domestic. I can dream right?

Yes, the prospect of a quarter-final against Venezuela is mouth-watering. They're flying right now, too, so it'd be a fantastic test for us.

I don't understand how the coach can tell pro players to stay focussed..Are Pro athletes playing at the highest level not focussed enough, do the players need reminding where they are or the magnitude of the game? So heat and a bit of physical play and this Canadian Team gets un-focused? Let's hope it's the coach just reminding the players...

Heat just tires you, plain and simple. Couple that with extremely high-intensity, physical matches and yes, I think even the most elite athletes need an outside source to help them re-focus in the tough moments.
