Jesse, I'd been curious to hear you thoughts on the Slayer 29 vs the Altitude. As an Instinct owner I went for the Slayer as I felt it was slightly more different from the Instinct than the Altitude. Living in Utah I have the perfect trails for the Instinct right out my back door, however within 4 hours either direction I'm in world class Slayer/Altitude country. Been curious from your standpoint the differences of the 2 machines especially since the Slayer seems to have a significant influence on how you ride the Altitude. Cheers! Hey Jesse, I have a video request if you will - even though this one was awesome 👌 Could you attempt to break down the process that you went through to get your speed on the trail? Bike handling, sessioning, hitting the gym for strength, body positioning... peer pressure 😂 Whatever it may have looked like for you, do you think you could possibly tackle that to give an insight on that process? I think many others would be in my same position. Racing the local enduro and DH comps, doing pretty well sometimes - fast and capable riders. But would have no place in an EWS race. So anything you can recall that helped you bridge that gap, I think it would be awesome. Cheers mate

This bike is quite progressive so you can get the suppleness of the coil off the top but not have it blow through travel too quickly. It really works well. I did try the 36 up front but I found it too flexy honestly, the 38 was just much more confidence inspiring in rough sections.

What a weapon! Question, I got the 2018 Slayer because the beauty frame looked like art. Super fun rig. What was the main reason for dropping it? Did Rocky simply want the Altitude as the enduro bike? Was it a marketing move or was there a huge design flaw I’ve yet to uncover? All the best this season.
@JesseMelamedMTB3 жыл бұрын
No not at all! It's just the matter of the bike industry moving at such a rapid pace. Doesn't matter if a bike was good, they are constantly trying to improve and make bikes better. That Slayer was turned into the new Slayer which has more travel and more DH capability. And the Altitude came in just below that to be more all rounded.

@@JesseMelamedMTB there's a video of the Penguin's equipment guy describing how he manages Crosby's skates and runners. it's a full time job just keeping his skates n blades on a schedule. apparently he can detect a slight scratch in his blade and needs it changed immediately. do you play hockey Jesse?

@@thecount1001 I'll have to watch that! I grew up playing hockey, I was playing rec league before covid every winter as well.
