I looked up another playthrough and turns out what's inside the church is part of the tarot reading, maybe even the main part of the reading. I won't spoil it, but the ending I saw was VERY different from the one in this video. No crystal, no shattering glass, a totally different atmosphere, a different action to end the game, and a different sentence. Idk how much I'd consider it a good reading or anything, but like I definitely like the ending a lot more knowing that the church is part of the actual reading and it's not just a short sentence that changes each playthrough. I really wish the Squad went through this another time just to see if they'd like it better knowing that.

In tarrot reading its not sappose to be something that is long term but rather something that could be taken to an event or time. Saying that nothing ends could be saying that what you may think is the end (eg friendships, work, bonds, storys) may come back to you later on and so you shouldn't be scared or upset of the end of something instead remain hopeful for its return.

I interpreted the Tower of Babel/angels one as not only being a "fall" (and simultaneously a rise, in the context of a cycle) - but it is meant to evoke an essential nature of humanity to strive for something more. So it is a cycle in the sense that it is something we are forever consigned to be caught up in by nature - we are unable to be what is not in our nature, which is what led Satan to fall from heaven as well.

Given the work they put into the steps of the reading I was hoping for a better outcome, but I get that having hundreds of combinations isn't practical - I still would have had at least a written paragraph or two. Get a proper reader for the live show, it'd be a good follow-up to see how they actually synthesise the impressions you give to give general comments and advice.

29:20 I'm pretty sure that pyramid-like building is supposed to be Dante Alighieri's interpretation of Purgatory, where each floor, like each circle of Hell, was a different theme of repentance. It could take someone eons to move on to the next floor, but at the top they'd be considered finally worthy of Heaven. The falling angels don't have anything to do with that directly, but could be seen as those who had been found worthy being cast down for some kind of committed sin, forced to start the path of penance all over again. EDIT: Dante's Purgatory was not a man-made structure, however, and this building does closely resemble artists' depictions of the Tower of Babel. But the oceans seemingly surrounding the base lends the notion that the building is on an island, which Purgatory was, though it was a natural mountain with levels carved into its sides. It's possible then that this depiction is supposed to evoke both concepts, and maybe to draw comparisons between the two.
