There was actually a duo, possibly a third party that came and ran under trying to catch you off. There was a guy on the ground where you saw him (by the shape of his helmet) but there was another guy under the metal support framing. looking closely you can just barely make out his legs to the side when you peeked, but he froze and waited to try and get a shot off, which in the situation worked as he managed to kill you. The other guy on the ground had a worse pos than his friend.

About the first clip: I don’t think slow peeking that angle is a good decision. He knows pretty much exactly where you are but you don’t have more than a rough idea. So after hearing him prone he is most likely in a very favourable position to hold that container and will win that fight 9/10 times, but if he’s prone he’s trading that for a lot of mobility (and he’s below the platform so he can’t stand up and run) so a quick peek or even better a flank would have been the better play imo. I get that that’s not what the videos is about just wanted to give a different approach for the situation. Love this series keep it up man!

Kippenbro for this tip: Bind Hold Breath as Continuous and Right-Click (Aim) and change Reload to Press instead of Release will increase its animation start time. Only thing you need second bind for hold breath in case you move and want to at the same time.

Jesse your tips help a lot your flanking stuff has net my a lot of kills. When I was lvl 10 I killed a 2 man solo with a sks with ps ammo on customs solely because of flanks. Everything I did in that fight was from stuff you have covered in tactics based videos. I before this wipe made it lvl 28 in about 2 months just slaying chads no quests. My point in all this is thank you so much for these videos. Between you and aim labs I feel I have a big advantage in over most people just getting into pc gaming and tarkov because of the tactics you have taught me and my aim rapidly improving thanks to aim labs. Edit: I would like to add I understand that killing a 2 man solo isn’t a huge accomplishment but they were way more experienced and had way better loot I just out played them thanks to Jesse which I think perfectly illustrates how big of a deal the tactics Jesse provides can have. If it were not for him I would played that fight way differently and would have almost surely died unless the tarkov gods decided I had pleased them on that day Edit 2: something else I would like to add for solos is I find that doing ballsy plays is often rewarding for solos if you just commit. Often if I do some crazy shit off instinct and rush at weird times I find that I catch duo and trios with their pants down just because how off the walls some of my plays are. I’m no pvp god but I do have decent success against solos, duos, and sometimes bigger squads by just committing to whatever play it is that I’m doing. I suppose they don’t necessarily have to be ballsy it’s more about just committing to the play. Anything other than a solo has to worry about team killing, I don’t. So if I decide to rush a duo who is looting techlight and ultra med I can lay into them and not worry about who I’m shooting at as far as team killing goes. I realize this is a lot but being a solo means that you have to out aim and out think your enemy. And sometimes just out balls them.
@cyric50834 жыл бұрын
I think in the first engagement the very second you are behind solid cover there's no peeking game anymore. I mean you know he's prone and watching you. There's almost not a chance you get him first even considering peeker advantage. I would try to move further left and rotate or at least go up the platform. Could chuck a nade his direction before you rotate left as well (in case you have one of course). I would say for an average player (not high skill streamer) the main lesson here is "do not re-peek if got pinned".

In hindsight, I would've kept pushing the left side until i reach the other side of the containers. Sure, you still would have no idea where he was if you did that, but there would have been more cover to get close to him and maybe track him/hear him ? Maybe not a good advice for new players, but I think in this situation, I would have done just that. Good video ! I like this kind of content like "anatomy of a firefight" keep it up.

Yeah, it's never a good idea to fight head-to-head right out in the open. Always assume the opponent is as good, if not better than you and keep stacking the tactical advantages in your favor if you want to win. Jesse's other videos, in addition to this one, really hit home on all the various aspects of combat. As always thanks for putting these out and helping all the new players get acquainted with EFT's pvp mechanics, and even some intermediate players like myself always find this stuff valuable to remember.

I'm not referring to this specific situation cuz he %100 had to flick and shoot..but the sight blocking his view of the enemy is why so many good players aim low so their view isn't obstructed..I've heard people mock players for aiming low but in a general sense thats exactly why players do it

My biggest mistake as a pure solo player is thinking that everyone else is playing solos - they aren't. I've been killed so many times this wipe by killing 1 or 2 PMC's and thinking it's safe. It rarely is. I need to remember to *ALWAYS* rotate and change position. I've given up my position by opening fire and typically I'm hurt after the first or second kill. I stupidly try to hold my position I killed from and end up dying by the final guy in the squad.

Not sure why people call the powerline trusses "radar" or "radar towers" but i catch alot of my discord calling them radar towers as well. It sure is alot easier and quicker to say ra-dar tow-er in a heated moment than pow-er-line trus-ses. I only mention it because i thought it was some wierd observation of my discords but interesting i see streamers say it too. My eft team finder discord is also 2k+ members so i guess i should of assumed it was common call out when i think about it.

That second situation is filled with nothing but mistakes. While using an SMG you're checking sight lines that are so far away you literally wouldn't even be able to touch people even if you had seen them, instead of focusing on the sight lines where you are effective(i.e. right in front of you). Shot from the right so you flick and spray into nothing but the environment for suppression but then continue to hold instead of using that suppression to move down the hill to break line of sight and reset the fight. Continued to shoot the rest of your mag without having a sight on target at any point, then proceed to move to the only place around you that actually isn't even cover and while doing so popped painkillers which have zero effect on you in that situation instead of reloading your gun so you have a chance to at least fend him off longer. At any time in that fight you could have walked backwards down the hill and lived only having gotten scratched.

Tarkov and other video games nerf holo sights (eotechs & uh1) by giving us visual information from only one eye. In real life I have both eyes open when running a holo, so when my eyes are target focused the housing of the sight doesn't obscure my vision.

Talking about 1:40. Why are u repeaking the same position? After you ran to the blue container while he was shooting you, its a comman sense that he is hard scorping you. In addition to that u even heared him lay down. Since u knew his position its a way better option to flank him. Even to peak for a short period is too dangerous. Just my opinion, all in all good vid.^^
