For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. The bible is no old book. You have to really let Christ open your eyes; to see the world in shambles. Many people say it's a religion to lock up people in chains, and say it's a rule book.. why? Because people hate hearing the truth, it hurts their flesh, it's hurts their pride, it's exposes on what things have they done..people love this world so much, s*x, money, power, women, supercars.. things of this world. Still trying to find something that can fill that emptiness in your heart. You can't find that in this world.. only in Christ, the bible is no chains, it's a chainbreaker. I got a perfect score on the math section of the SAT, here is my take - it isn't necessarily a test of difficulty, as it only covers up to algebra 2 and some very basic concepts of pre calc (radians, basic trig functions). It's meant to be a test of endurance. It's a 4 hour long test, and you are taking the math section right after a 1 and a half hour difficult reading and writing section. At this point, you are already fatigued (also you're taking the exam at 7am). Then you have to take a something like 70 or 80 question math exam. At that point, you are so tired you will make silly mistakes on the easiest problems.

I’ve always felt the US system has a nice balance. People can trod along and get a basic, functional education if their ambitions don’t lay in academically challenging fields, or people have the resources to push themselves for the best. Like you said, there isn’t a difference between the top students. Any top student in the US would say exactly what he did about the difficulty of the exam (and the video giving the percentage who get a 1600 is very misleading as that includes the 2 English sections. It’s closer to 2-3% getting an 800 in math, with many more hovering in the 750 range.) I’m at a top college in the US and I feel like I’m not just having academics shoved down my throat. I get to read and discuss ancient literature, learn about other cultures, etc. I’d hate to be in the environment that they have in Japan personally.

The only thing that makes studying a boring task is when have little time to study for a test of some sort, then your constantly thinking of what you need to know in order to PASS instead of what you want to know because it interests you. Studying to LEARN is completely different. If you know you can do well and learn most things you can stay confident and enjoy studying because you're not stressing for upcoming tests. If you don't have this confidence you should start early and work hard and you'll develop it over time. When I have periods of less schoolwork at university I study things in mathematics which I just find interesting, the feeling is completely different, I can read parts of chapters, do some problem that I think are interesting and so on. It also allows me to stay in the learning mode for when I need to get back to my actual curriculum.

But the math isnt even the hard part in the SAT since I think people dont know, but most of it is trick questions or formulas forcing you to think more on reading the question. The challenging parts are the Reading and more so on the Writing parts. But it was still cool to see someone like him solve the math.

Multiple choice is so easy. We in switzerland don't have them at all. We have to fully write all the answers in 2-3 sentences.
@SHADOWM2024 Жыл бұрын
@waveril5167 Well that's because they are making the students think it's harder just because they write 2-3 sentences for each question, but we all know it's gonna be repeating and unnecessary to write " I would have to say that the answer is going to be ____ because when we ______ we can find out that etc." You see what I mean it becomes bland and not engaging as they keep repeating the same sentences for answers most of the time. But believe it or not the SAT does have a essay portion which people rarely do since you know its optional and they know people are gonna keep doing runons especially higherschool level so why would you need to write unnecessary things when they can just make the questions tricky so you HAVE to critical think about it second guessing yourself and tbf makes it more fun and potentially could be harder if the answer you got was on the multiple or not. But yeah Switzerland does have good schooling though since you and the teachers get more freedom to do your own things/activities definitely better for the students over there. And I just remembered I'm pretty sure all private/charter schools are like that that's why the "smarter" students mostly come from those schools and if you at the way the teachers teach it's because they have more freedom to do their own activities. Idk how I got here but I'm done talking and no this didn't take long to write probably like 4 minutes thinking and writing as I go and this is basically what runon feels like.

The SAT is designed so that people can take in their third year and if calculus is taught at all it's usually to seniors or 4th years. You do have to consider that the questions on the SAT are usually middle school/9th grade level as it is usually taken halfway through highschool in 10th/11th grade. Also, many students take classes in math multiple years ahead of the intended pathways. Those who take the SAT in the US who are in those higher level classes usually also find that the SAT is more easy than expected because they are taking courses like Calculus when the test is based in Algebra 1 standards. Really, it isn’t so crazy that he says middle school students could solve most of this because it really is true even in the US.
@idkbutok3824 Жыл бұрын
Also, colleges do not consider the SAT as the most important thing when selecting students. Other factors like GPA, extracurriculars and clubs, family situations, essays, and more are much more important. One 1600 on the SAT won’t be what gets you into a good college.

Not an iq test at all, reading questions carefully is not a matter of iq. If you’re saying that it is in terms of pattern recognition, the SAT has the most basic level pattern recognition questions. If you prep for it in the right way 100% on the math section is very very achievable. I don’t mean to sound pompous but I genuinely believe that’s the case.

The SAT is easy, but it’s the pressure that everyone puts on the students that makes it more difficult. That’s why sometimes people get a bad score because of the pressure, as well as the time limit. the fact that a SAT is considered middle school level in japan just shows how good the education system is there and how bad it is in most other places in the worlds respectively
@Jdj-nr2nw24 күн бұрын
One standard shouldn’t show how good an entire country’s education system is. The values that Japanese education teaches are quite harmful in some cases like it doesn’t produce growth or using critical thinking, it’s just learning how to get things done uniformly. Obviously that’s not the same from place to place but as someone who’s experienced it, there is a value in other country’s education systems too.
@AEKARA_OLE24 күн бұрын
@@Jdj-nr2nw Unfortunately thats how education is in most parts of the world if not all. They prioritize being able to solve exercises and get good grades even if you dont know why you do what you do. So I dont think many systems actually encourage that much of critical thinking. The point I made wasnt only because of the SAT but also because we all know how good the education is in such countries like japan, china etc. So I thought it was interesting the fact that exercises that other students in 11th and 12th grade struggle to solve in other countries, here he said that they are just middle school level exercises.
