The ear-cutting scene is one of the worst in my opinion, just because it demonstrates so well how fucked up Kilgrave really is. his psychology is so strangely fascinating. how can a person be THAT entitled and THAT apathetic about other people's well being and yet...seem to still see them as people? and the casual way that he gives commands almost makes it seem like he doesn't realize his words have supernatural power and instead believes that people should just automatically follow his will without being told.

Because he got the powers at a young age. if every had always done everything you ever said for your entire life, that's just the the way the world works. The creepiest thing about kilgrave (other than the numerous other creepy things about kilgrave) is the fact that there aren't any effects to indicate that his powers worked. Sometimes the actors wont follow the commands like theyve been mind controlled, but instead like theyve been thuroughly convinced to do something, such is the case with for example the neighbor or the kids that went into the closet which i mean (theyre kids) but when it comes to actors like krysten, colter or anne-moss who actually act like theyre being mind controlled, the way carrie anne moss chucked the pistol away and unlocked the door or how ritter acted in that scene with the ear, they felt like they were actually being mind controlled, idk everyone was great but some stood out as just on a whole other level, carrie anne moss especially

Technically, his power makes people *want* to do the thing he's commanded. So in general, they *would* act like they've been convinced, because that's how they perceive it. (There was that group therapy scene where the guy talked about how he *wanted* to leave his baby on the side of the road.) Those who seem to be resistant are more likely just trying to reconcile their sudden desire to obey with their intellectual knowledge that Kilgrave has made them obey.

You know what Kilgrave could have done. It would have been risky, too public, but he could’ve just gone to the avengers headquarters and mind controlled them. That way he’d have a whole team of enhanced individuals that could have taken down Jessica. But of course Netflix couldn’t do that. Legal reasons, which can be a pain the ass
@itlog.sa.chicken2 жыл бұрын
I would think Vision is immune, and is strong enough to beat everyone else except Wanda. Wanda could be a mixed bag because of her powers. Thor isn't human, either, and could possess a resistance to mind control similar to Loki due to his physiology. If Tony is in a suit at the time, Kilgrave's airborne powers might not even make it past the filters, but who knows. It's a lot of fun to think about. But no doubt a single command from Kilgrave would put the Avengers out of commission for a good amount of time.

With Kilgrave's powers, she could have taken any case and turned it into a winner with even the jury questioning their own motives for acquittal mere hours after the trial, but noone could dispute the results. She'd probably become much worse after that, but she would never be able to resist using the power more and more until she might even be worse than Kilgrave since she's not the stunted child he was. I really was gutted when I found out that Disney when they brought Marvel wasn't going to make anymore Jessica Jones. They said the content was too violent, why couldn't they make a Disney/Marvel over 18 productions?? David tenant made a really good bad guy. I'm also a big fan of punisher i love that series.

If this show runs for longer than three seasons which it should it's brilliant, he's going to win an Emmy for Kilgrave one of the best villains on TV.

Isn't the secret to beating killgrave just to stop yourself from hearing him? Like a deaf person wouldn't be affected right?
@RenaldyCalixte8 жыл бұрын
Yeah except that Kilgrave could command someone you love to kill themselves unless you listen to Kilgrave, or Kilgrave commands a thug to kill the deaf person.

worst case scenario. kilgrave and the Joker team up against batman. ............ Holy shit
@gabrielcarrasco84148 жыл бұрын
+Devon Satchell Killgrave's power can be nullified with strong willpower and finding loopholes. Like when Killgrave told Patsy to put a bullet in her head, Jessica Jones got a loophole to it. Batman is more than intelligent enough to resist.

Even worse. Imagine Kilgrave controlling Joker.

It's been shown that people with extremely psychotic or sociopathic tendencies can resist some mind control. Pretty sure Joker fits in that category.

Well remember that his mind control actually works like a virus that spreads in the air, it would still affect Hawkeye, plus when he told trish to put a bullet through her head she could swallow it, technically a loophole, so commands also depend on the subjectiveness of the person, Hawkeye can still read his lips, and I think it would still work on him

@felynecomrade5 жыл бұрын
I think the Joker might find his power to be "no fun". The Joker loves to be surprised and entertained. That's why he spends so much time going up against Batman, the most resourceful person of all. Having said that... he would DEFINITELY like the idea of getting anyone he wanted to play along with his jokes.

Jessica jones season 1 was very good but I think they fucked up killing Kilgrave. He was the only reason the season was as good as it was. The actress that plays Jessica Jones cannot carry the show by herself. He character is pretty dull tbh.

Rewatching this makes me so mad they didn't go with the children of Kilgrave storyline from the comics. They explain with Hope's fetus that his children will inherit some of his Gene's, so potentially his powers. In the comics he has several kids from multiple women he's raped throughout the years who inherit his powers. The most noteworthy is his daughter Kara who becomes a hero named Persuasion. Imagine a season with Kara tracking down Jessica to learn about her father because she wants to learn about what she is. We see her genuinely try and use these powers for good. We see how hard it is to live everyday life without accidentally commanding someone and the tremendous potential for good with this power. Not to mention the great exploration of what it's like to be raised as a child of rape and maybe Kara accidentally commanded her mother to tell her the truth and it just came out......so much potential wasted 😔😡
