What a match.Never thought Pegula would pull it out. Giorgi was hitting winners every where like Ostapenko did in the Middle East tournaments a while ago. Love Jessica Pegula's professional approach. No whining, no looking at her box, no grunting... she just gets to work, never gives up and plays quality tennis. Giorgi played a great match too. Tough for either to lose.

@@Avalokitasimha That stands to reason based on her conduct on court. I'm sure most know her Dad is the owner of the Buffalo Bills football team so she comes from privilege and means. However it's obvious she was raised well. Really respect her professionalism and fight and character and wish her great success.

Giorgi dominated the whole match but at the key points she fails like Sakkari that's why the score was 5-7/6-2/5-7 needs to fix the game during the pressure points.

Nope. Look at 6:31-6:33 on KZbin 0.25 times slow motion and feel embarrassed by your own stupidity. The ball before Giorgi returned it at 6:31 was clearly out, so point ends there. Giorgi should have won this match right there, but umpires were to dumb and stupid to call a match there. Giorgi lost this match, because of umpire blindness and incompetence.

To go back in history she seems like a female Illie Nastase, very gifted, can play all the points but can't win the match. Better to be like a Mats Wilander, with no shot to make you say wow, but who found a way to win the match.

Was pulling for both of these ladies. On paper, Pegula was supposed to win, and she did. She's even a great doubles player! She's in good form... a quiet storm to be reckoned with! Giorgi just won a title in February, and she was able to take Pegula to three sets here. Giorgi's showing mental toughness and tons of talent... to be one of the hardest hitters on tour considering her small (but muscular!) frame is impressive! she's looking more relaxed these days... good for her!

I was rooting for Camila as the underdog. She acquitted herself well, but just fell a little short at the key moments. She needs to work on her mental game. Unfair comparisons are too often made between Camila and Anna Kournikova. The difference is that Camila can actually play. Would love to see her being more consistent and winning tourneys.

This was a very important match for Pegula. Giorgi beat her 6-1 in the third at Montreal, last year, despite Jessica being a set up and a break in the second. Players know that its a mental battle playing Giorgi; Keep fighting and wait for her to start missing shots. Camila is very streaky and can play, lights out, for several games at a stretch so it can be extremely discouraging watching winners whiz past your racket. But, Jessica never gave up and when the pressure built, Camila, predictably, started to gag a bit. Camila is on her way to Top 10, I think. Both players were top notch and I'm happy Jessie won!

JPeg was just a bit short to take the Madrid open as a finalist. Really like her quiet style, efficient and a thinker on court. JPeg has been improving in all facets of the sport. In my book, she will eventually become number one one day.

Really good match but a crime against humanity for the cameraman not to pan to closeups of Giorgi during the match. Honorable mention, Giorgi's cold handshake at the net. A good reason not to care if she loses, she shows no due respect for her opponent. Let her lose. Congrats to Pegula who everybody knows can beat anybody on any given day and she is always a perfect lady on the court.

@@vojtasjedyny Można uchylić decyzję jak najbardziej. Ale nie w takim momencie jak jest piłka na mecz. Sedzia pokazywał na linie to z dupy to było. Jeśli był faktycznie aut to bardzo blisko tej linni ale mogła zachaczyć o linie ale już teraz jest pozabawie

@@kamill4205 Sędzina główna zawsze może uchylić decyzję liniowego. Niemniej powinna była sprawdzić dla pewności. Tak czy siak kolejny powód za tym, by liniowych zastąpić komputerem - z kamerami i laserami nie sposób dyskutować.

Sorry Giorgi is just a sexy female tennis player. She has the face and the body but lack the mental fortitude and variety on her game. She just hits the ball harder. She lacks spins and tactics on her game. What makes it worse is she is a sore loser. She gives a terrible handshake to her opponent. Her time is running out. More players are getting better physically and mentally. She could be a better player if she just changed her game and attitude.

@@Jdonam honestly her game is flawed. The only thing she does is hit the ball hard and aim for the lines. She is so erratic. She needs a coach that will guide her on timing tactics and mental game. She sucks because her game just doesn't work with people who can diffuse her power. Last of all she does not play well on pressure. Also she has an attitude when she loose. She is a pretty woman with no major titles.

@derek She's actually already got all it takes to threaten at the majors, but there is some lack of belief and she doesn't play as well as she can. It may well be her Father's presence as you say, he did a great job of coaching her shots/movement/fitness, but I think he gets nervous on the court and that is not good. She is super hot though .. :-)
