I didn't even really consider myself a fan of hers prior to reading it, but now I like her and have sympathy for the challenges she's faced from multiple shitty people in her life, expectations put on her to be a certain kind of commodity or sex symbol and her depression/alcoholism. She came off more clever and thoughtful in writing than her public image belies.

Her book, essays, and even random social media musings show an intelligence and flair for writing many could only dream of having. I loved Newlyweds, I have them all on DVD box set (lots of bonus footage). Watching it now, so many years later though; Nick was so jealous of Jessica.
