I visited California last year and had oxtail for the first time at a Cuban restaurant. My friend dad is Jamaican and made oxtail when I got home. Both DELICIOUS!!!

Little history of the Jamaican patty from a Jamaican. The British brought their pasty to Jamaica and when the East Indian came in the 20th century, they made a twist to the British pasty and create the Jamaican version. I'm happy you enjoyed the food, I must say kudos to the person/people that cook that food, they're representing Jamaica very well.

Im mad late, first thing great video Beef patties have no beans unless stated. Its a minced meat inside. The jerk chicken you had its more Americanized. Jerk sauce is a newer thing here in the states. Authentic jerk is somewhat different and hard to find outside Jamaica. The stewed beans im not sure what that is. What have a dish called stew peas. It usally has meat in it unless vegetarian. Never had Jamaican potato salad, i think that might be more a American thing. Keep the good work and let me eat the rest 😂

Interesting you're not a fan of chicken due to the gaminess taste, I feel the same way about lamb in fact (just my opinion) lamb has a stronger gamey taste compared to chicken. I find I have to season it well and infused with whatever's cooking with it ie a stew for me to tolerate it. Anyways keep it up, petition to try some Haitian food when you have the chance.

Looks like the restaurant did a bad job with the Oxtail that day, it’s supposed to be served with a lot of gravy. People usually vote our Oxtail 10/10 and everything else lower. 🇯🇲
