Very good, before I came to from Jamaica, as a kid I would buy patty and coco bread and slice of Jamaican cheddar cheese to make sandwiches....it was awesome and soon other people copy my ideas from 34 years ago. I also would buy ice cone(shaved ice with syrup and water, but opt out of water and add a scoop of ice cream which again many started to copy. Well done, I'm happy you enjoy some of our culture which is based on what is slave food.

I am Jamaican, and your beef reminds me of Tastee's patties (a patty store) 10/10!! Yes we do add cheese to our patties, I am not sure what type of cheese but we do have cheese in some of them :) There is also Chicken Patty, Veggie Patty and Shrimp Patty etc. :)

I'm from the Caribbean and I love hot patties. We also have chicken and veggie patties but nothing as good as a beef pattie. Love your version of the hot patties especially the cheese. 😍❤️👍

I never knew the yellow came from tumeric. I was told it came from pig lard. That's why the vegetarian ones are not yellow. Where da Coco bread? Good job Quang. Can you make Haitian mushroom rice and legume next?

Over the years Jamaicans started using tumeric or curry powder because its readily available but traditionally egg powder or Annotto(Achote) is used for the color. Tueric is more readily available and became more used so most people assumed that's what's used and they go for it

It’s actually really popular back home to put cheese in it so you got it right 😊 They mainly use cheddar though. I only eat cheese patty and I love mine with mozzarella too 🤗

I love Jamaican patties!! Ive been craving a good patty for a while. I'm from NY living in WI now and i miss them! I can't find them anywhere in Madison. I decided to make my own last week. I followed the first recipe i came across with on utube, a Jamaican channel. After i made them they looked amazing but didnt taste so good. This video made me crave a good patty even more.
