I struggled with addiction for almost 10 years. I have been in and out of jail/prison for years. Now I am working on my bachelors degree in psychology. This story is based on my own personal opinion and experiences.

I heard that a Texas correction officer can end up in prison him/herself for supplying an inmate with a cell phone. Also, did you ever meet an inmate who you believed was genuinely innocent? It would make for a good video.

Francis Ebbecke you are correct, correctional officers can and DO get arrested for trafficking. I am a former CO from Indiana and this topic will be coming to my channel soon, if you’d like to watch it from the uniform point of view.

@Jessica Kent I believe this comment to be true about COs being charged, arrested, incarcerated for trafficking contraband into facilities. But with as tight as you and Christina Randall both say COs, warden's, and other jail employees stick together I feel like it would be extremely difficult to prove that it was brought in by a officer and not obtained by any other means. Do you agree or disagree and why? Without hardcore evidence, (DNA, fingerprints, photo or video footage, ect) how can they prove it and not have another he said/she said situation? Also wouldn't other COs,wardens, administrators and employees probably back the CO accused and take their side over an inmate accusing or reporting? What are your thoughts or feelings on this?

When you brought up phone calls, I was instantly taken back to my childhood. My mama would call and you'd hear that warning beep. Also the times my dad would call when he had no minutes and instead of saying his name he would give his message or say he loved everyone.

Here in tennessee (at certain jails) you can email/message the inmates also. My daughters dad got moved to another jail recently where you cant email...but he gets to go to work at this new jail and it's a much better jail with more opportunities. He gets to make money and keep what he makes when he gets out (after cost of living in the jail, his ankle monitor, commissary and phone time are paid). But he face times me and his daughter off of people's phones at work. I'm scared hes going to get caught and lose his job, but it's pretty cool getting to see him and talk as much as we do. And my daughter obviously loves it.

It is so damn hard to keep prisoners on the straight and narrow path to being hardened criminals forever... but the prison system will try its hardest. If you destroy the links between a person and society you will make re-insertion almost impossible. And if you stop most of the communication with the outside, you are doing just that.

I support you and all the people who are supporting you. I’ve been a recovering addict for about two years now. I’ve been to jail but not prison. I’ve done two 7 month sentences. Not much but enough to make me change the way I look at life. Been to rehab 3 times and I did it willingly. Thanks again and if you find it in your heart to read this comment. 🖤

You really inspire me to study law enforcement , and you've taught me alot about prison that I never knew ... Obviously When I was in 8th grade my school did a prison visit and the girls in my grade had to wear tracksuit pants and a baggy t-shirt and we weren't allowed to wear our school jerseys or show our school badge , and they showed us what they confiscation from the inmates and was honestly prisoners so creative in making gadgets and etc ; the girls were taken into the women's cell and there were like 12 beds (bunked) in one cell and it was crazy ... When the girls went "into" the men's cell they cat called us and made really rude comments but I think they were told to scare us ... I was only 14 at the time when I went on the trip but it honestly showed me where I wanted to go in life If you're wondering what prison I visited it was called , Pretoria central prison in South Africa

Arkansas has come up a little bit. My aunt actually ended up in greene county as intake for mcpherson, she face timed me from there and I was at work when she did. It was the craziest thing to me. Also waaaaaaay back in the 1900s (late 90's very early 00's) sebastian and crawford county actually had a list of things that you could bring for inmates bc they did NOT supply them. It was basically hygiene stuffs, everything white or clear. Underwear, bras (no wires), socks, bed sheets, t shirts, paper back books, composition notebooks, stamps, envelopes etc. The things that you HAVE to buy on commissary now. It is complete BS that as a woman you have to buy underwear and bras on commissary and they are easily 3-5x as much. But if a man comes in he gets 2 pair of his preference in his mat roll. You cannot keep a ponytail holder in your hair in sebastian county, still to this day they will take it. I will end my little rant bc anyone here has heard this or already knows these things. I also just wanna let you know that you are so inspiring! Ik I've commented on several of your videos as of late, but I can just relate. Like I've been there done that I get it. I thank God 🙏 didn't catch those f words all tho I'm not sure how, and I've never graced the intake of Mcpherson. I have been to wrightsville long before it housed women visiting my dad as a kid and trust as scary as it was being searched going through the door buzzes and all that at 7, 8, 9 years old, it wasn't enough to keep me off that path. I'm so grateful to have figured it out and gotten out of that world and HOPEFULLY have broken the cycle. You are great! What you are doing matters, the info you're putting out into the world will make a difference!

So my husband has been in for 17 years so I’ve learned a lot from him. In Washington we call it a “keep separate” when one inmate doesn’t want to be in the same unit as another. He’s had quite a few people out keep separates on him over the years and it’s annoying lol I know it’s called something different in each state 😉💜

I live in Snohomish County, so I can confirm that they do use the term "keep separate"… Lol, I've only had ×2 keep separates before… 1 girl who attacked me ⧾ 1 random chick who I didn't even know. I almost had to spend the night in the hole cuz I just happened to get arrested while those 2 girls were already locked-up there, so the jail didn't have anywhere to put me… 🙀

My brother's doing 6 years, should hopefully get out next summer. He just called today to talk to his son and to wish me a happy birthday. I sent him some money for Christmas, too. Hearing you talk about your time in prison makes me regret not writing him more or sending him more money. For the most part I didn't write cause I really ran out of things to talk about. 🤷 I just had this mentality that he is the one that broke the law and put himself in there...why should I help him out and send him money. While part of that is true I'm sure he really regrets going down the path he did.

Your channel is so awesome and informative. I watch every single one of your videos since your feature on Christina Randall’s channel and I haven’t ever even been to jail or prison myself 🙃I currently live in the Czech Republic and my husbands a lawyer and we talk about the topics you bring up here all the time. Here, it is a law that if you’re pregnant or critically ill, your sentence be postponed or change according to your needs ( up to judge how). I cannot believe that in the us they make women carry out their pregnancies in jail/ prison! Pregnancy is the most vulnerable time in your life and whatever you do to a pregnant woman DIRECTLY effects her baby as well from nutrition to the stress. It is so wrong. Love your channel and also have some questions for you ( May seem random , it’s my first comment ever ) you said once that they only let you take the Bible into seg, do they let you take a different holy book if you are not Christian, ex. First testament? And how did your heroin addiction start specifically? Thanks 😊

I just imagine how people who have been in prison for decades suddenly have a smartphone in their hands. That must be absolutely mind-blowing for them.

My mom went to prison when I was 7 and was in for 7 years... she went again 5 years later for 2 years. I am very much familiar with the 15 minute calls... hearing the automated voice say "you have one minute left", I hated it. I only visit her once and it was her second prison stay. It was way overwhelming, the guards were not nice and wouldn't let us hug long. I never visit again. But I did pick her up when she got out. It's all hard. Especially for those doing the time but it really does affect the family too. It was very traumatic for me growing up without my mom.

I did 14 years straight .. they don't allow cards like that simply because contraband.. usually drugs inside of those types of cards Even though drugs can be in any type of card..those are the easiest..so they're band from all institutions. Which sucks!! If u have the money to buy another regular card.. I would send it. From my experience.. cards . especially on holidays mean the WORLD.. people try have no clue what cards or letters mean. I'd rather mail than money. I had no one the entire time other than my best friend who was there for me .she's amazing .but I never had money or mail really.. and when I did get it.. it literally Made month!! But anyways merry Christmas to you. You're a wonderful daughter for being there for your dad. You'd be surprised how many kids forget about their parents if they go to jail. You obviously have a huge heart.. lucky dad!!!!!

@Bert Clayton of course it is. I was young I went in at 21 to 35 so I had a long time to learn my lessons in life and now my kids live a completely different life than I ever had.. they know nothing of the old me. But I also grew up in foster home to foster home. My point was that she has a huge heart for caring. Nothing to do with parenting.

The phone form thing was interesting to me. The last place I worked one of my coworkers was dating an inmate. She stopped answering her personal phone and then suddenly our restaurant started getting calls from the jail! Like he would spend the entire time he had to call family spam calling our store to try to get ahold of his girl. Crazy man none of us had any idea how he got the work number from in jail

WOW! Thats crazy expensive for phone calls, my husband is in prison and its only 15cents a minute (about 2.25 for a 15min max call) and its gone up. When he first went in 6 years ago it was only 12cents a minute.

That’s so crazy how expensive calls are in some states! Here in Delaware where my friend is in prison, it’s only 5 cents per minute and so we can have a 15 minute call for only 75¢. Also in order for me to visit him I didn’t have to fill out any paperwork or applications. We just call, give our info, I guess they do a background check and then we just come in after scheduling a week in advance
