Hi Jess! I found you exactly a year ago when you had less than 2K subs. Im 33 and had 6 years clean from heroin and then relapsed right before I found your channel. Just hit 60 days clean after a year long relapse where I lost everything I built in 6 years of sobriety. Now it's all about the comeback. So appreciative of your channel and just you as a person!

Yes. Ive been tempted for so long to make a youtube channel. Ive had a insane life, I have a rare medical condition and became a young widow. All the stories about these two major life events are interesting and could help people, but I am so afraid of KZbin 😂 opening up to a camera is awkward enough(I truly didnt think I would struggle to the extent I initially did when I made practice videos. I decided to make practice videos to get comfortable talking to a camera and to practice how to edit but i never uploaded them). Fear of being judged, for certain stories that nobody in my life knows, for being 30 and not a 18 year old, for having a big nose😂 my cousin has done youtube and social media for a long time and shes had hate and expose videos made about her lol, shes had people threaten her, its crazy. Between those fears and currently being busy raising my one year old niece on my own for 5+ months now(ive always helped raise her but have been taking complete care of her 24-7 for 5 months) and a new massive health issue, Ive not decided yet on if I am going to do this youtube thing lol i think if i do, im going to use a pseudo name, like Lia instead of Julia lol

Christopher Horbett, I totally agree! Jess, there is nothing wrong with your older videos and you should be proud of them because they are authentic and absolutely everyone on the planet has to walk before they are able to run. Putting yourself down everytime you tell new viewers to watch an older video for context just makes it more awkward and trivial. Trust me, your older videos are only cringe worthy to you; I, like many, subscribed to your channel when I started watching those videos, so they can't be that bad!

Your videos are helpful I started watching the detox in the hotel one and it kept me interested, I feel angry and sad when I hear about the problems you face more because it alerts me to the chaos in the world. All we can focus on is the great things we have now. ❤️❤️❤️Couple things you said got me lol, “can’t change a man unless he got a diaper on hunny” 😂😂😂 and dude I used to talk to spoke Spanish, called me “Guerita” - pretty blonde white gurl. That’s how I knew he was talking about me to his boys. You’re so funny and real. You have a lot of strength and I admire that about you. Addiction is rough, know all too well. Keep being strong. Hey girl, just came across my rehab journal lol. It was rehab or prison and somehow I I ended up for 14 months in rehab. The facility I was in housed ladies that had just been released and 85% came with children or were pregnant. This was back in 2009. I’m glad I kept my stupid journal. I wish I could find some of the girls I’ve lost contact with. Ended up getting on methadone before I left because I would have to do a lot of time if I messed up with my probation officer. Methadone helped me out so much. I got off it in 2016 on St Patrick’s day. Relapsed a few months after my dad died passed away in the summer of 2018. So back on methadone since August of this year. Sucks. 34 and back to square one.
