Maybe this is kind of stupid but... since you shoot with a 24-70mm lens, wide and low angles, could you shoot with a kit lens 18-55mm with variable f. (3.5 - 5.6)? I think it could be helpful for us to see how you do that, since most of people watching your videos can't afford a 24-70. i just have the kit lens anda a 50mm that's nice for portraits but i would like to try some wide angles like you do. It may be cool if you do a video with a photoshoot using a kit lens, to see how you would do it and the results. Thanks Jess, you are my fav photographer!

Martha Flores that would be too easy. Especially if you use a third party app that let's you control aperture and shutter. Its not as much control as an android, but it's still a great camera for its size.

Austen Skylar sorry if my info is a bit outdated, I dont actually own an iPhone, only played with a friends for a brief amount of time. On an android, you can change the ISO, shutter, aperture, MF, exposure comp to + or - 3, and Metering modes, along with some other less useful things.

Hey guys! Thank you for your feedback on the video. I just wanted to take a moment to address one of the topics that has come up regarding DigitalRev. Some of you have said that I had blatantly “ripped off” DigitalRev as they came up with this idea first, when in reality I had no idea it was even an actual series on KZbin. I honestly did not know as I don’t watch their channel. Being a fan of Lara Jade I just watched the video she did with them, but didn’t think much of it. That was the extent of it. The idea for the video was suggested by viewers for us to do (along with many other ideas involving disposable cameras, film cameras, etc.), there were never any bad intentions behind it and I never claimed I originally had come up with this idea. I just thought it would be a fun challenge, so I chose to do it. There are many ideas that are recreated in every community on KZbin, why does photography have to be excluded? Why can’t we support each other and allow everyone to have creative freedom on here instead of monopolizing an idea and not allowing anyone else to do it? Is it really a challenge if only one person is allowed to do it? Beauty bloggers come up with new trends and challenges all the time and everyone seems to be cool with it - so why can’t the photography community be the same? I mean no disrespect to DigitalRev at all - I just wanted to make an entertaining video for you guys. Many photography channels have also done my challenges - and I think it’s really cool to see what other people come up with. I don’t expect credit. I have almost 300 videos on my channel from photoshop tutorials, challenges, editing videos and photography vlogs. I try to do a little bit of everything. I’m not trying to be the “next digital rev” or the next anything, I’m just trying to be myself. Had I known the cheap camera challenge was something they had done as a series prior to posting the video I would have gladly credited them directly in the video with no hesitation. I’m sure there are people who have their minds made up regardless of what I’ve stated here, but I wanted to talk about it so you can hear it directly from me as I have nothing to hide about it. Rayowag I understand what you're saying and I agree with it. Having your own style of editing is amazing, but taking portraits doesn't always mean a CD glare, neon boards, magic string. No doubt he's amazing at it, but from a perspective that many viewers would wish to see what a toy camera can do, I would have loved to see something new tried brandon. There is nothing new under the sun. Don't worry about who did what first. When we think of something we need to understand someone else has thought of the same thing already. So many things going on in the world, there is no way we can keep tabs on who did what. Really because we don't have to. For what? The most we can do is try it out ourselves for experience. Nobody owns this challenge. I would encourage everyone photographer to do it. Why? Because not many probably can but it really test your skill. The outcome will be different for everyone because people have their own style. Do your thing Jessica. Do your thing Brandon (your book is a pleasure to my eyes). The most we can do now is advance on what what's already done. I mean to the people who claim so and so did it first, well that's because that's the first person THEY saw do it. So that's all they know. I'm sure others have done it before them. It's impossible to trace back to who did what first. And at the end of the day, I'm sure that person can care less and would encourage this video.
