Lol I was laughing so hard at the part where she threw out the blue paper😂😂 btw you are SUPPOSED to put the blue paper in face down and then that prints out then your ready to take your pictures. The reason your pics didn’t look good was because that blue paper was not in it lol but no hate I just hope you found this helpful

Thats not an instant film camera, nor does it take actual film. That's a digital camera with a built in printer.

The calibration paper is supposed to be left in, so you don't let light hit the first piece of polaroid paper

Lottie Robinson I suppose this would be valid for the film Polaroids such as Polaroid Classic and Fujifilm’s Instax. But this camera is actually a printer, so the “film” itself is a photographic paper. I don’t know tho if it would make a difference to use or not the calibration paper...

It's a Polaroid brand camera. Polaroid was the camera brand that also made cameras that have the white rimming. Now people just refer to them as polaroid pictures but the camera she is using is still a Polaroid camera.

It’s a Polaroid in name and branding only. The impossible project bought the rights to that. The process and actual film is not the same as the original Polaroid film. Having used original Polaroids compared the newer ones, I personal dislike the film quality. I much prefer the quality of Fujifilm Instax which looks a performs like a true Polaroid film.

Hi Jessica. That difficul of framing the pictures was something really anoying for photographer in analogic times. It's call "parallax error" what is basic a erro betwin the visor and the lens. What u see in the visor wasn't whats u camera is framing cause they are no in the same spot (the visor is a little above the lens). Its because of that we have mirror cameras now. To avoid the parallax error. Hope u like that info.

umaepifania Yeah, I often have the same problem with my Polaroid 635. They already used mirrors in the 1972's Polaroid SX-70 which is absolutely cool I think. Also it's the only folding dslr to be ever built.

I actually am obsessed with this, when I was around 4 and 5 my family owned a Polaroid 600 camera, and I have always been obsessed with Polaroids, I don't know what it is about them, but I have always LOVED them. when you use a viewfinder, it's helpful to move your eyes slightly till you see the edge of the frame on all sides. that's how you can see everything that's in frame

My boyfriend got one of these Polaroids and we love it! It takes some getting used to (you definitely have to adjust your aim more than you think, mainly just a bit lower than you want) but then you can get some awesome shots from it still. :)

My Polaroid isn't the same brand but I can help you a little with how to work it. They have a set focus point so either google that models specific point or test it out. Mine is around a meter (1m) and it comes with a smaller lens attachment that allows you to do portraits so it focuses at around 30cm which is an arms length. But with that zoom in the part you look through doesn't zoom in too so you need to look st the bottom right I think to get it all in frame. Hope that sort of gives you an idea around how Polaroid cameras work. They aren't always user friendly but we do it for the aesthetic.

Demi Queen22 I have that camera too!!! It's really good but if your having difficulties just try to look in your settings and change the little thing that changes the scene and that helps. If you want like a super blurry background just go REALLY far back from the thing you want to take a picture if and zoom in ALOT. I have trouble with lighting too but I made a reflector which helps (just get cardboard or something and wrap it in aluminum foil)

I loved this!! I just bought an instax and I'm in the same phase, like: how does it work why is the picture so burnt anD WHY DO I LOOK IN THE MIDDLE AND THE PICTURE IS A BIT TOWARDS THE LEFT. But I think it's amazing!! It's awesome to have the physical picture and it's also teaching me to mind the frame and the elements inside it and the fact that "hey, each picture costs around $1 so don't take 5 of the same thing". I totally have that same Polaroid and I just discovered you can take collage photos XD and the cheaper, bulkier polaroids from Walmart actually take way better photos. And ALSO! Those polaroids are stickers! :D peel the back off!

Seems that the rule for portrait mode is to aim a little further to the left than you would want it to be, as it seems to be cropping from the top (would make sense because of the location of the viewfinder, that it is sort of pointing down) 🤔. Either way I loved these! And I loved the idea for the challenge. I would like to see more, in different settings!

The viewfinder is above the actual lens, the reflex camera actually shows a reflection of what the lens “sees” so, with this camera you have to keep that in mind, and move accordingly to the position of the lens and viewfinder. Sorry if my explanation is more confusing! 😅😅😅
