I've been thinking about self portraits a lot lately, I've seen so many in the photography groups I'm in on Facebook, but nearly every time I've taken a self portrait, I feel as though they're bland photos and that it doesn't really say who I am or what I was feeling at the time. Ok, this is still where having another person is a huge help. Having someone able to frame and focus on you is alot easier than finding a prop. And this doesn't help when you're out somewhere and want a candid portrait.
