It would be nice to know the gauge size of the silver half round wire

Love this video so much! The only thing I keep struggling to find information is where do I get silver, gold, and items of that sort to work on. I can’t get a lot since I am still practicing but that’s my main question, where to source things to make.

Depends where you're located. I've heard good things about Rio Grande in the US. I buy from Palloys here in Australia.

Thanks, I'm planning on making a ring for my girlfriend for our engagement at some point, and am using different videos for references on techniques. This showed me how to do a lot with the base.

Hello. Would these tools and steps also be the same for making a white gold ring? Id like to purchase gold and some silver casting grain to start. Thank you for this video!

Question, after annealing the ring. Do sterling silver rings need to be reharden?

Absolutely yes.

@@JessVanDen Thank you, I realize that may not have been a smart question after watching a couple more videos and understanding a bit more of the process with sterling silver. lol..

Does the company accept orders for several specific designs of rings for a product developer? I have a design patent for a jewelry accessory and I am looking for a manufacturer/distributor or preferably a licensee. Any feedback appreciated.

So ive got like 10oz of pure silver. 200 small loose diamonds and a 9 karat sapphire. Can i easily make things or just not even try and pay a professional to do it?
@lprice4601 Жыл бұрын
Do you always use half round? Dead soft or? What gauge? Thank you.
@JessVanDen Жыл бұрын
Usually half hard/medium - we use all sorts of different sizes and shapes, but the same technique for all.

How long do you keep the ring in the quench and the pickle? Is the quench just plain cold water?
@JessVanDen2 жыл бұрын
Yep, quench is just cold water to take the heat out before you put it in the pickle. Time in pickle varies - just until the scale has come off the ring - you can see the difference once it does.

This video would have been great, but you started off assuming everyone hat ring shaped silver stock. If you explained how to melt and form the stock or at least advise the uses, you can buy it at the ridiculous premium. The video would have been useful. Considering the video appears to be geared towards users that have no equipment, you cannot expect them to know this information.
