i love female friendships so much, they’re just hard to navigate sometimes, but when you do find the right friendship, it’s priceless!! i’ve been having those problems recently
@tuyetanliu6 ай бұрын
honestly, you suit almost every hair colour i've seen you test as if you were born with it! in the little girl chat you mentioned, i think that's one of the major tests i would recommend to other girls to see if your friends are real ones. you express interest in someone and if your "friend" immediately jumps into "getting to know" them... well, that is not your friend. then, the "cutting people off" angle is also dependent on the actions that prompted the issue... like if someone did something i'm morally opposed to even if they're just an acquaintance, i would probably cut them off. i'm just not interested in associating myself with people like that and i personally believe that the people you keep around you speak to your character.
@jessyluxe6 ай бұрын
thank you!! ᡣ(˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)𐭩ྀིྀི also i 100% agree with u, the people you associate with not only speak to ur character but will inevitably influence your actions and beliefs as well so it's best not to keep ppl who dont align with your morals around 🙅🏻♀️

Yeeees i totally agree to this. I had a friend of several years but then they did something that is really out of my morals, I cut them off. I cannot afford to be friends with someone who does the opposite of what my values are.
@hollynko6 ай бұрын
Any "friend" that perceives you as competition ain't a real friend. It's essentially feeling an unnecessary sense of superiority over someone who genuinely cares about you and only showcases more of your insecurity more visibly. I also agree with another comment here (@tuyetanliu) saying that "cutting people off" is dependent upon the actions which elicit the issue. People like that will only mentally exhaust you and are just best kept in the past. On that note, I absolutely ADORE your hair and this makeup look! Sending lots of love to you Jessica

This brow trick has just blown my mind...🤯 i have pastel pink hair but am naturally dark brown. I have typical asian eyebrows in shape and hair strength/straightness (mum is Chinese) but they're very thick and dark (dad is italian) - so i feel like i look a bit silly with super dark eyebrows and light hair. I am so excited to try this. Seriously, THANK YOU ❤🙏🏽❤

I agree with you I only had two best colleagues in college and that was enough for me. When you talked about toxic friends I thought about the Korean drama “Marry my husband” her friend in the drama was obsessed with the main girl and was not happy that she found happiness. I hate friends who compete with me whether through life or boyfriends also!! Having toxic friends teaches you to make better choices on good friends who support and uplifts your friendship!

OMGGG I understand how you feel. I don't know why girls always have to compete with each other. We should support each others successes, not bring down others. I have had a girl who I thought was super nice and kind, but in the end I found out that she was in a secret competition with me. One day, during a party where she was a little tipsy, she mentioned that the reason she did not invite me to the trip, because I take a lot of pictures whenever I go out or travel. She literally invited everyone but me and I felt like the odd one out at the party since everyone was talking about it. In addition, I had girlfriends who were upset with me because I bought a house. Then the next week, they went out and did the same thing and then boasted about it in the group chat. I don't understand why they would be upset. If my friends succeed, I would be so very happy for them. But apparently, they did not think the same for me.

That’s breaking girl code. No excuses. If she also had an interest, she should’ve said it immediately when her friend talked about it. Real girl friends wouldn’t be a snake like that.

say it 'immediately after' just for the other girl to tell her why she's bringing it up now and that she's trying to compete with her for the guy. Be so serious with yourself I beg.

I also have a similar toxic friend in high school. She is super insecure and she wanted to stay with me every time. As long as I want to have some spaces for breathing, she said, "you're abandoning me, you're so selfish!" Even when I was sick and need rest she wanted me to stay with her. We have been half a year and finally, in the last semester of high school, I told her, "please leave me alone, get the f out." Then I blocked her on social media. It's been 7 years now and she's still in my block-list.

The Oxford English definiton of friend is "a person with whom one has developed a close and informal relationship of mutual trust and intimacy; (more generally) a close acquaintance." you were saying that you don't want a friendship with competition, and i'm kind of struggling to see how that's even a friendship. you're totally right: that's not what a friendship should be like. it's just that is that really the definition of mutual trust or intimacy? anyway, you're makeup (as per usual) is GORGEOUS and so are you! i hope you know that you deserve the BEST friends ever, and you would be a great friend to have because you're talented, conscious, driven, and opinionated! thanks so much for posting another girl talk/grwm video and i wish the best for ur channel ☆⌒ヽ(*'、^*)

1. Omg you are beautiful ❤ 2. I used to be that friend. Well, not that I was purposely putting others down or stealing their men or hurting them, more like I kept comparing myself to my friends and it made me feel bad. I never wished them anything bad and I actually got upset when they didn't get something even though they were perfect for it and absolutely deserved it, but everytime they did get something, it was like a spotlight for my insecurity and that I did not get it because I simply wasn't as good or didn't have the connections or whatever. Even when I got something my head started comparing and the result of those comparisons was always that at least one of my friends would have been better. That's why I didn't even try to get some things. Anyway, as the years went by, I told one of my friends about those insecurities and how bad I felt for not being happy for her when something good happened for her, she was perfectly understanding. I started talking more open about my insecurities and almost all of my friends were really nice about it, only one wasn't but she was even worse than I was. She was the kind of person who if you go on a vacation and are super excited to tell your friends all the places you wanna see in wherever you go compulsively has to go on a more expensive, more exciting and fabulous vacation and directly starts talking about it when you tell about yours. Anywho, my other friends were super nice about it, shared some of their own insecurities and we decided to not view that as envy but as the desire, Motivation and possibility to learn from each other. ❤

Although I haven’t fully cut her off as she’s friends with some of my friends…I’ve definitely limited my contact with her. Although everytime I happen to have to hang out with her…she always ends up making subtle comments like “wow why are so many guys hitting on you”🤦♀️ Anyways I’ve always been a bit thick skinned so I’ve never let her comments get to me but it does get a little draining…and I know it stems from her deep insecurities

I feel like while growing up, we settle for friends who are convenient to us without our awareness. We are so young, we don’t have better judgment, we are stuck in the same place for years, and so we find ourselves in toxic relationships more easily. I had a ride or die best friend from ages 5-17. The older I got, the more I didn’t like her. She bullied me, humiliated me in front of guys, was making choices that put her and others’ lives in danger, and she had a toxic view of women due to her own insecurities, which impacted my own view of women that still affects me to this day. I cut her out of my life the summer we graduated high school and we have not spoken in 13 years. You have to make the best choices for you.

I'm like lowkey in that last situation you're talking about. One of my childhood best friends for over 10 years started shit talking some of my closest friends now, whom I've known for 6 almost 7 years now. Like at first I brushed it off because she was one of my closest and longest friends, but then when some of my other friends like hated her and cut off all contact with her, I was put in a really uncomfortable position. Even though she has texted me a bit and has asked to hang out, I just don't feel comfortable hanging out with her like I used to. She got into an argument with a bunch of people in our year at school and basically turned them all against her, so I stood by her. But then I heard about more of the things she's done and now I just can't be friends with her the same way we used to be, which I'm upset about. We used to talk all the time and hang out every break from school and now we haven't spoken regularly in over a year, only a few texts here and there, and I haven't been to her house in almost 2 years, and I used to go quite often.
