Leona Lewis weren't friends with them she's 3 years older than them, she was in her last year when they were in their first year. Adele even said that her and Leona never crossed paths but she wish they did but her and Jessie J were friends and they use to try to out rift each other.

Being british like jessie j we tend to be a lot more prone to groups 😪😪. Just naming few successful british groups the Beatles spice girls, westlife, s club 7. 1 direction , the Saturdays It's all very typical.
