Jessie Laine Powell's Portrayal of Lady Day/ Billie Holiday

Jessie Laine Powell portrayed Billie Holiday in the 2012 local production of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill in Lexington, Kentucky. Powell is a jazz singer who has been performing in local venues since the 1980s. She is known for her vocal virtuosity and her belief that jazz allows her to express herself without borders.
My first one woman show stage play. Sidney Show had been scouting me out for 3 year prior to approaching me. He saw in me what I did not see in myself. Soon after I made his dream come true, My produce, friend and brother died from cancer. He is so miss, him his wife Julia and their beautiful four legged friend. Their daughter Kim Shaw is still alive in theater in N.Y and I hope she will one day see this again and know how blessed I was her and her family crossed my path to be their " Lady Day",
