WELL??..Sort of...More like a 2020 Star Wars light Sabre delivery, with an expensive bottle of Vintage Champagne bought at an Auction at Christies long, long ago, in better times....., Popped by Diana Rigg as the lead, in The Avenger's.. (Emma Peel).. would remove the cork , resounding in a terrific lightening fast, skyward, shot.....With a BANG so loud you would LOL with sheer pleasure...with only one perfectly executed swift and accurate speed from a very sharp object....(Perfume was so yesterday)... The sound of a very expensive 'cork' would be more fitting!! *wink* 23.9.2020. I heard this song for the first time yesterday...I had to savor it again, this morning........ Justin I'Onn new Roisin Murphy, forreal? Hot damn, that’s the news I needed to hear during this horrible year. Disco gets a bad rap from some old-heads, that say it’s a tacky genre. It’s pop-adjacent, & pop has its fair share of tacky tracks. That doesn’t change the fact that there are so, so many excellent songs that fall under that blanket, & this is like...mature, future-disco, & not even remotely tacky. In fact, those vocal harmonies & string embellishments sound like a very well-educated musician came up with them. I’ve been sleeping on this artist.

House is at its core, stripped down and looped disco. The bassline, synth driven and not modulating for bars is typical house, and the accent percussion is sparse and much more simple that in a disco record. There is no orchestra or tonal percussion, the chorus is almost a Todd Edwards/Mark Kinchen style chop job, and melodically it is circular which is not a feature of disco. Check out 90's house, or even Tensnake. I love it nonetheless.

The fact that this was not nominated for a Grammy highlights how the Grammys ignore music that doesn’t breakthrough in the states. This vocal performance and how the production layers it is stunning.

LYRICS Ain't enough to say that I think of you Words can never do the things that I need them too Tell me when I'll get more than a dream of you? 'Cause a dream is just a dream And I don't wanna sleep tonight Do anything to make you stay Do anything to start the day again If I had everything my way We'd travel back and forth and back again If only I could let you go If only I could be alone I just wanna stay In the moonlight, this is our time in the spotlight (x2) It's like you never even left I need a moment, just a moment Blow me a kiss I'll catch your breath Give me a moment So devoted If only I could let you go If only I could be alone I just wanna stay In the moonlight, this is our time in the spotlight (x2) Can't keep the sun from rising Can't keep the heart from beating Can't stop you from believing Can't keep the sun from rising Can't keep the air we're breathing Can't stop your heart from leaving (x2) If only I could let you go If only I could be alone I just wanna stay In the moonlight, this is our time in the spotlight If a dream is just a dream And a dream is just a kiss Then tell me what it means Tell me what it is And if a touch is just a touch Then a touch isn't enough Tell me what it means Tell me you're in love Tell me when I'll get more than a dream of you Tell me when I'll get more than a dream of you Can't keep the sun from rising Can't keep the heart from beating Can't stop you from believing Can't keep the sun from rising Can't keep the air we're breathing Can't stop your heart from leaving

As i predicted , disco made a full comeback this year not as an underground club genre but as a sound that is going to refresh and change one more time the pop charts all over the world. Jessie Ware thank you for keeping the disco flame alive because now for sure disco sound will stay for a few years just to confirm that it was , it is and always be the best dance music genre ever existed.

So thankful that music and videos like THIS are still being made. It´s absolutely gorgeous! Rarely have I seen a video that captures the lush, surreal and dreamlike mood of a song like this. That´s an instant classic! The video also reminds me a bit of Bong Joon Ho´s Snowpiercer, which has all of earth survivors living on a giant train.
