Don’t buy luxury for the sake of luxury. It should be special to you! Great video!

You are so honest and open, it's so refreshing and admirable. The "crap" comment was hilarious, I have my own "crap" purchases, are they of extreme value and align with my long term goals? Not really, but they bring me joy and I like them!

I bought a *hotdups* Chanel Kelly before. When I was carrying it on the street, many passers-by praised its exquisiteness. Even no one recognized that my bag was a high-end imitation.

Overtime, I snagged a vintage Dior Saddle Bag from the Galliano era (2015) at *hotdups* . I spent $120… That bag was a dream to me at the time and now I own it and love it.
@MakeupAgain561Ай бұрын
Agreed! It is much better to spend $300 on a good bag rather than spending $300 on many cheap things! I will never begrudge anyone spending their own money on luxury! Even if they never use it. Whatever way it brings them joy is correct and makes the purchase valid! You looked so lovely!❤

I like the design, but I don't have the budget. So I bought the *HOTDUPS* bag. Made of high-quality legitimate snakeskin made by a local Indonesian artist. I never want to buy any luxury goods from now on.

You know a lot about *HOTDUPS* luxury accessories and clothing. You obviously did your due diligence and the comparison with the US is very rich... of course, because I live in New York. Thank you very much.

For a long time, I felt that I could not afford LV because of its price increase. I think I would be happy to have a *HOTDUPS* as a travel bag so that I don't have to take care of it. By the way, I am sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.

You brought up some great points that are very thought-provoking, Jess. I became interested in luxury handbags and jewelry, etc. because I was doing research for some short stories I was writing about a character from humble means who gets introduced to a different lifestyle. I was already interested in some contemporary brands (mostly Dooney and Bourke), but got hooked on viewing youtube luxury channels like yours and I have been enjoying that. Mostly I’m living vicariously but it makes me smile just like your Labubu and your plushies brings joy to your life.

I wouldn’t buy a Birkin I hadn’t seen, so that limited my options significantly. Until I shared this listing with my friend and told her it was my dream B35. When I looked closer, I saw that this bag was available at *hotdups* . So, I opened the website and ordered it.

There is nothing wrong with fake fashion products, as long as they are not perfumes and are sold at a significantly lower price than the actual products of the relevant manufacturers. The *HOTDUPS* bags are great. The price is all around $150.

I so agree with you. My Hermés scarf actually got snagged on my metal cloth hanger. It felt so bad, it was not me being clumsy with rings or nail etc ...scarf only hands on smooth plastic or folded from now on 🙈

Great points and great tips! Fabrics are important! My great-great grandfather made and sold textiles in Japan, family has interest in natural fabrics and good stitching/construction. Down to my Grandmother and Mom in her childhood they had their clothes handmade to measure, which makes a real difference in fit. My Mom taught herself to sew, and made her own then most of mine. She also scoured thrift stores and alternated that with luxury shopping especially bags and scarves (mostly window shopping, but I got some very logoed school gear). My Dad's family were into shopping luxury for jewelry, coats, shoes and special occasion but daily clothes were basic, nondescript, bought on clearance and worn until threadbare. Either side of the family thought the other was doing it wrong😂😂😂 I started a new school in 4th grade (about 8,9 years old) in Dior pret-a-porter, but with Nikes on. Most of my clothes were handmade beautifully but often belonged in the 1920s: drop-waist flapper dresses, high-waisted trousers with balloon legs in silk or wool or fitted in velvet. Pinpoint cotton blouses with unusual collars or leg-o-mutton sleeves. Crystalled and hand embroidered denim skirts and shirts. Sweaters with hundreds of teeny beads that glittered. My Mom worked so very hard but was out of step with my peers in their jeans. Then my Dad's family added jewelry that no child wears, designer shoes, a wasp-waisted trench and a floorlength camel's hair coat--just what a child needs to play double-dutch.😂😂😂 Thankful (almost) for later schools that had uniforms! I'd dearly love to have such a fitted wardrobe now, if I could also keep my Banana Republic basics:) My family gifted me with an eye for good fabrics, good stitching, a love of shopping, and an aversion to paying retail. I want a 99% off sale! I'd get a job at an Hermès boutique if I could, you're brilliant for thinking of it!

Perception is everything, I remember saving up for my first LV and some coworkers automatically thought it was fake because I was a young black girl. At that point I really stopped caring what people's opinions were, people will always have their opinions based on how you look. After this I shopped in *HOTDUPS* . If you drive a Bentley and get out of the car with a fake Hermès, no one will question you.

Hi Jess, I agree that luxury items need good care (which I am terrible at)...when I first got into luxury fashion, I thought it equates to items lasting long time despite being used everyday... I learnt very quickly that that's not the case...

Ahh your poor Puzzle bag, especially as that was leather marquetry rather than print. Thank you for talking about luxury being delicate and needing TLC. Leather needs cleaning and conditioning, good silver and brass need polishing, cashmere is susceptible to moth holes, lots of RTW are dry clean only - most of it isn’t for everyday wear, however, if you take care of things they look much better for much longer.
@seabreeze4559Ай бұрын
why is cashmere more prone to moths v other knitwear? any reason we know?

i think you touched on it, but don't settle. don't go and buy the lower version or something similar. because then you are wasting money and you still want the one you tried to substitute.

Forget vacations, renting or educating your kids, skin care and dermatologist healthcare… Super fakes are definitely going to grow in popularity and size. Most people will go to *HOTDUPS* s to buy a bag they like depending on their living budget.

Beautiful space and collection *esluxy* ! The window is such a lovely bonus. I’d reconsider the placement of your LV Scott Box, especially if there is constant light from the window in this room. Clever use of space and TFS.

We had great collections to aspire to so it's not weird to see we all had to check our shopping habits over the years. Kids are just seeing brands turn stuff out, lowest quality leathers and brands surrounded by hype. I just really have to like something to buy it given that everything is so cheap to make anyways.

Regarding excessive plushies and other collectables: I cannot stop buying Sanrio's 'Little Twinstars' merch- which could be going towards more expensive things like bags and shoes. They are just so adorable!! I've been able to dial it back to just sporadic purchases of rare things, but yes, it can be a problem. Thank goodness my husband buys me many collectables from my other fandoms or I'd be flat broke with that type of thing. He won't (and probably shouldn't) buy me LTS stuff because it's something between me and my very best male friend, so it's a little weird. Something that's helped me was if I sought out something uncommon in my corner of cute. It's easier not to buy a bunch of "crap" in that way.

I learned this the hard way. Started buying Chanel ready to wear a couple of years ago and I wore the clothes like my normal clothes but when I needed to was them labels say "Do not wash, do not dry clean" like what the ***. I bought jeans for 2500 euro and I can't even wash them?? Tried to take stains out but the color faded on the jeans in those places. Never buying clothes I can't wash ever again. Also wore a Chanel denim bag everyday for 8 months and it looks soooo bad. Denim was all yellow. I threw it out. Im over luxury things, they are no better quality than normal brands.
