You don’t really get the full impact from Alexander Hanson when listening to the line in isolation. Throughout the number he goes from Calm and collected, to showing serious concern for Jesus, and after pleading to allow his help and being constantly pushed on by the crowd he’s mentally broken, realizing the dream he had has come true as he watches on in horror. That scream is a far cry from how he begins the number which just builds and builds. Best Pilate in my books, the 2023 UK tour version is really good as well

@@3_outof_4 Yeah Alexander Hanson is great! Loved his portrayal! However, if I’m choosing a favourite, Barry Dennen does take it for me personally.

That's Peter Carroll shown in the 1994 Australian footage, not John Waters. John Waters did most of the tour and appears on the album, but Peter Carroll was the one performing the night it was filmed.
