This scene made me bawl. I wanted to watch it one more time before bed, so I can remember it. It’s so beautiful. Matthew was my favorite character from the get-go, and my heart hurt for him every time people would mistreat him. I’m autistic just like he is, and don’t often understand. I felt so sorry for him. And I knew, at some point, either Jesus would give a talkin’ to to the disciples who mistreated him, or something like this would happen, when Jesus would remind Matthew to be strong, and that he is just as worthy as any. Every scene where Jesus impacts someone else in The Chosen, I see myself. I see God’s loving mercy. The beauty of His love and compassion. He saved me like He saved Mary, and called my name, and humbled me and showed me faith like Simon Peter, and called me when I felt undeserving and unworthy like Matthew, and convicted me lovingly but told me the truth like John and James, and reminded me to trust Him when I was doubting like Thomas, and He showed me all the love and mercy and healing He showed each ill, sick, and unfortunate. Wow, this show is amazing at showing you just how much Christ loves you. And if you think this depiction, this mere mock up of what actually happened is moving or inspiring, imagine how much more the real thing is. Imagine how much more loving Jesus really is. This is a movie made of history like any other. And soon, we will see His face and have it proven unto us. Blessed are we who love Christ. Blessed are we who follow Him.

After watching the series for the 5th time, I understand why I am drawn to it. Even though this series is mostly speculation, I am the Mathew who applies logic and reason to everything. And, for me this series brings Christ and his ministry to life logically. How patient and loving He must have been toward those He called and touched. Because of how thought provoking this series is, I find myself reading the Word and imagining Jesus speaking to me.

I love the psychology of his words, they calm and ease the stress that all life can have but if we try to follow and listen to him our mind stops playing us against them mind games. Hence we all can get along and help each other, "Reciprocal Altruism" Peace on Earth Good Will toward Man!

GREAT series !! I binged thru my 2 seasons of dvds over the last 2 days. My sister mentioned picking up chunks of salt from the road leftover from the snowplows. She had rented a library book- What if JESUS meant what HE said? It points out that cultural Christianity falls short of JESUS' gospel. After hearing my sis mention the salt not knowing I had binged on The Chosen- I looked for this clip & the one where Matthew describes the metaphorical text verses with humorous literal interpretations to send to her. TY for posting!

Since when did Jesus ever need anyone’s advice? His sermon was impromptu, it was not prepared and certainly not with the help of anyone! So sad to see the producer take liberties in inserting his own imagination into this series and deviate from biblical scripture!
