I first heard this one when I was a 12-year old boy attending the little Methodist church near my home in Northern Ireland. Now, 70 years later, I recall the precious times of singing which, in fact, led me to faith in Christ--and I thank God for His great salvation.

This has become one of my favorite hymns lately. "Jesus keep me near the cross," I love to spiritually picture sleeping on that blood-stained hill under the cross. The sharp rocks are a soft cushion for a weary pilgrim to lay his head upon and sleep.

Really enjoyed listening to this lovely hymn, it gives so much hope and Comfort. However It saddened me to see how little energy or animation the congregation had. It looked like they had already been through 1½years of turmoil, uncertainty and all the trials of Lock-down. Even so thank you and God bless the entire community as well as the choir.
