As an 11 year old child - I remember crying inconsolably and being so utterly heartbroken for this man (I didn't know who He was then). Seeing this movie was so horribly real and disturbing for a kid that age way back then. But I'm so thankful that I did. It was my first introduction to the Lord Jesus Christ. Now I'm 51 (yes that's how old this movie is) and my life is still His - He is my Lord and Savior - My King of kings. My first love.

Absolutely. Nothing better before or since. Robert Powell is excellent and the rest of the star studied cast - it was phenomenal. I don't think there's been a film where so many top stars have appeared and had such short roles. Lawrence Olivier, Michael York, Rob Steiger, Donald Pleasance, Ann Bancroft, Olivia Hussey, James Mason, Anthony Quinn, Christopher Plummer, Stacy Keach and on and on and on. Absolutely fantastic. You couldn't do it today.

The scene with Mary crying at the foot of the Cross. She did not. She quietly suffered with her Son, in perfect harmony with what God wanted. Even the demons were in awe of her self to God' will. Brother, Michael Pate, this is a wonderous edit, surely glorifying Our Lord. What bubbled my heart is the ending music. Our family watches this movie every year, at least once. The original ending music after Jesus says, "I AM with you every day, 'til the end of time" irks me each time. It needed the main theme to play again to match the emotional arc. YOU'VE DONE THAT !!!
