the word "are one" means that Jesus said that he is CONNECTED to God, he DID NOT say that he is god but he is connected to God. Why? Because Jesus is His messenger. And just like any other prophets in the Old Testament, they are also connected to God. And how do i know this? Because if their job is to spread the words of God, they need to be connected to God. Tell me, can you do your job if your boss dosent tell you what to do? Do you know what you have to do on your job if you are not connected to your boss and receiving his message to you? Can Jesus pbuh spread religion if he dosen't know what to spread? You could also say that since i said that Jesus is "connected" to God, it means that he is god right? Well no, because just like what Dr Zakir Naik said, can point out any where in the Bible where Jesus claimed himself to be god, or asked to worship him as a god?

Jesus crucifixion is also foretold by the prophets Jesus foretold his death 3 times in every synoptic gospel in total 9 times. also in old testament prophets Isaiah 53:1-12 and Daniel 9:25-26 foretell jesus death in which Matthew 5:17 jesus says I came to fulfill law and prophets and then Jesus fulfills what is foretold on Calvary Cross. It is often said, “tell me where in the Bible Jesus says He is God”. Now it is true that Jesus never makes a direct statement “I am God” or “I am God, worship me”. When Jesus was performing his earthy ministry, it would have been a very dangerous thing to do, because it was part of his plan to be emptied of his power when he took on the form of a man. This neither means He wasn’t God or that his deity wasn’t revealed through the scriptures. The ten commandments make it clear that you can not have any other God other than the LORD God Almighty “You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20.3. This can also be translated as no God besides me. Deuteronomy 6.13 says “Fear the LORD your God, serve Him only, and take your oaths in His name.” This theme is repeated many times through the Old Testament. In fact Jesus quotes the above verse to Satan when he temps him after He has fasted for 40 days and nights “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4.4)”. So I think all would agree it is wrong to receive worship if you are not God. We see that with the Angel in Revelation 19.10 “At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.” We also read in Acts 14 that Paul and Barnabas were offered worship in a place called Lystra and Derbe after they healed a lame man. This is what they had to said in response, “14 When Paul and Barnabas heard this, they ran among the people. They tore their clothes and cried out, 15 “Why are you doing this? We are only men with feelings like yours. We preach the Good News that you should turn from these empty things to the living God. He made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them.” Yet Jesus received worship many times and never rebuked the people giving the worship. For example when he walked on the water in Matthew 14.33 “those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God”. We have to conclude that if Jesus was going to correct anybody, it would be his disciples? Also after the resurrection we read in Matthew 28.9 “When they realized it was He, they “came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him”. Notice I haven’t even mentioned the Gospel of John yet. The demons also worshipped him, “When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”, Mark 5.6-8. Now as you are probably aware, the Gospel of John is the most emphatic about Jesus being God. The very first verse says this “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” If you read the rest of the chapter you see that when it uses the term the word, it is referring to Jesus. It is also in John we see the use of “I am” in a way that causes the Jews to become very offended. In John 8 we read this “58 “Truly, truly, I tell you,” Jesus declared, “before Abraham was born, I am!” 59 At this, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple area.”. We also find Thomas declaring him to be God “Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20.28)” There is a lot more examples in John besides these examples. It is often implied that John is the only gospel that promotes the truth of the deity of Jesus. While it is the loudest in this regard, it is certainly not the only gospel. Take for example the gospel of Mark. In Mark we find some accounts that demonstrate this. For example at Jesus’ trial we find this in Mark 14. 60-64, “Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?” 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” 62 “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.” 63 The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. 64 “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?” They all condemned him as worthy of death.” What was the problem. Well Jesus is pointing to two pieces of scripture that refer to the LORD God. The first is from Daniel 7.13-14 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”. Psalm 110.1 say this “The Lord says to my lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”” If he had just been claiming to be a messenger from God then they would not have accused him of blasphemy. The same account is repeated in Matthew. By the way, when the name LORD is used, it is referring to the Hebrew name of God, which is writen as YHWH which broadly translates as I am what I am. Anything that is revealed in the New Testament is also revealed in the Old Testament - after all it is the same message from beginning to end. In Isaiah 9.6-7 you can read this “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from that time and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will accomplish this.”. Another example is found in Isaiah 7.14 “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”. Immanuel means God with us. The angel quotes this to Joseph when they tell him about the coming birth of Jesus. See what Jerimiah 23.5-6 says “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteous Savior.” Note that the branch from David - a King, is speaking of Jesus. Also note that it gives Him the name “The Lord” which is the translators way of saying YHWH (Gods name). To sum up, Jesus Christ Himself claimed deity. He taught His disciples to pray in His name. He claimed that He and the Father were one and that He was the Son of God. He claimed that to know Him was to know God, to see Him was to see God, to receive Him was to receive God, to believe Him was to believe in God and to honour Him was to honour God, while to hate Him was to hate God. Jesus is called the creator of everything and so is YHWH. He calls himself the first and the last in the book of Revelation (twice); so does YHWH in Isaiah 44.6. Many times, Jesus uses descriptions of Himself that come right out of the Old Testament.

The bad thing is that we (I was Christian, too) have been brainwashed by the " Big Whore Babylon" from the day of our birth. So this is a personal Invitation from the Almighty Lord to you, to be a member in the big Choir in front of his Throne on the day of resurrection. @@ok-uc4jy The Spirit of the truth talked about in the Bible is the "Holy Spirit " The Holy Spirit and Angels are two different things but cuold not be clearly separeted in the Old Testament. There are many angels like Angel Gabriel(Luke 1:19,Luke 1:26), Angel Michael(Revelation 12:7) and even the sturbon Angel lucifer or satan or devil(Revelation 12:9) who was chased from Heaven. Because Holy Spirit was not clearly understood in the Old Testament, Prophet Mohammed PBUH kept on referring Holy Spirit to as Angel Gabriel. If you are with the Holy Spirit, you are not just with one Angel Gabriel, you are with GOD. Who is the Holy Spirit? Mark 13:11 But when they arrest [you] and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" If you take it to someone who knows how to read and ask him to read it to you, he will say he can't because it is sealed. @@luckheartnoble6718 It is often said, “tell me where in the Bible Jesus says He is God”. Now it is true that Jesus never makes a direct statement “I am God” or “I am God, worship me”. When Jesus was performing his earthy ministry, it would have been a very dangerous thing to do, because it was part of his plan to be emptied of his power when he took on the form of a man. This neither means He wasn’t God or that his deity wasn’t revealed through the scriptures. The ten commandments make it clear that you can not have any other God other than the LORD God Almighty “You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20.3. This can also be translated as no God besides me. Deuteronomy 6.13 says “Fear the LORD your God, serve Him only, and take your oaths in His name.” This theme is repeated many times through the Old Testament. In fact Jesus quotes the above verse to Satan when he temps him after He has fasted for 40 days and nights “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4.4)”. So I think all would agree it is wrong to receive worship if you are not God. We see that with the Angel in Revelation 19.10 “At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.” We also read in Acts 14 that Paul and Barnabas were offered worship in a place called Lystra and Derbe after they healed a lame man. This is what they had to said in response, “14 When Paul and Barnabas heard this, they ran among the people. They tore their clothes and cried out, 15 “Why are you doing this? We are only men with feelings like yours. We preach the Good News that you should turn from these empty things to the living God. He made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them.” Yet Jesus received worship many times and never rebuked the people giving the worship. For example when he walked on the water in Matthew 14.33 “those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God”. We have to conclude that if Jesus was going to correct anybody, it would be his disciples? Also after the resurrection we read in Matthew 28.9 “When they realized it was He, they “came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him”. Notice I haven’t even mentioned the Gospel of John yet. The demons also worshipped him, “When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”, Mark 5.6-8. Now as you are probably aware, the Gospel of John is the most emphatic about Jesus being God. The very first verse says this “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” If you read the rest of the chapter you see that when it uses the term the word, it is referring to Jesus. It is also in John we see the use of “I am” in a way that causes the Jews to become very offended. In John 8 we read this “58 “Truly, truly, I tell you,” Jesus declared, “before Abraham was born, I am!” 59 At this, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple area.”. We also find Thomas declaring him to be God “Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20.28)” There is a lot more examples in John besides these examples. It is often implied that John is the only gospel that promotes the truth of the deity of Jesus. While it is the loudest in this regard, it is certainly not the only gospel. Take for example the gospel of Mark. In Mark we find some accounts that demonstrate this. For example at Jesus’ trial we find this in Mark 14. 60-64, “Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?” 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” 62 “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.” 63 The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. 64 “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?” They all condemned him as worthy of death.” What was the problem. Well Jesus is pointing to two pieces of scripture that refer to the LORD God. The first is from Daniel 7.13-14 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”. Psalm 110.1 say this “The Lord says to my lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”” If he had just been claiming to be a messenger from God then they would not have accused him of blasphemy. The same account is repeated in Matthew. By the way, when the name LORD is used, it is referring to the Hebrew name of God, which is writen as YHWH which broadly translates as I am what I am. Anything that is revealed in the New Testament is also revealed in the Old Testament - after all it is the same message from beginning to end. In Isaiah 9.6-7 you can read this “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from that time and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will accomplish this.”. Another example is found in Isaiah 7.14 “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”. Immanuel means God with us. The angel quotes this to Joseph when they tell him about the coming birth of Jesus. See what Jerimiah 23.5-6 says “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteous Savior.” Note that the branch from David - a King, is speaking of Jesus. Also note that it gives Him the name “The Lord” which is the translators way of saying YHWH (Gods name). To sum up, Jesus Christ Himself claimed deity. He taught His disciples to pray in His name. He claimed that He and the Father were one and that He was the Son of God. He claimed that to know Him was to know God, to see Him was to see God, to receive Him was to receive God, to believe Him was to believe in God and to honour Him was to honour God, while to hate Him was to hate God. Jesus is called the creator of everything and so is YHWH. He calls himself the first and the last in the book of Revelation (twice); so does YHWH in Isaiah 44.6. Many times, Jesus uses descriptions of Himself that come right out of the Old Testament.

No he said he is the Christ, the son of God. He never claimed to be God. Exodus 3:14 reads in Greek 'ego eimi ho on' . The 'ho on ' part refers to God the Father who was, is and is to come. 'Ego eimi' just means I am in a general sense. Jesus says in John 8:58 'ego eimi'. Not ' ho on". Further a few verses further in John 9:9, the healed man also says 'ego eimi' . It just means I am, not what churchianity makes of it.

I said, one has to learn correctly by reading the text, without imposing one's own idea like Dr. Zakir Naik did. If one learn the theology of the bible properly then the bible will say the following: There is only one God, the god of Abraham, Isac, Jacob, and Israel, and he is the god of the universe God of the bible does not beget children(sons/daughters) like humans beget. Therefore, the bible does not agree that god could have a begotten son like the son described by Dr. Zakir Naik and the book he mastered ie Quran . The biblical doctrine is quite clear on the fact that before the birth of the son of Mary Jesus, the Son of God existed with God and he was known to be God him self, in the person of God's Word. John 1: 1-5. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it." And in John: 1: 14 "t14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth". So how can God have a son like a human begetting a son? No way! It is an analogy just like the other analogies that are in the bible. Example 'God is rock', that does not mean he is physical rock. As you know analogy is two things that are otherwise different, but has one point of comparison. Hence The Word who became flash was named as Jesus, and his divinity is made known using the title 'Son of God'. Hence Jesus is one man with two natures, ie fully human, and fully divine. He is named with that title by God in his baptism, and in his baptism God installed him the Kingship of his father David as God promised. He is the anointed one, the Messiahnic king of Israel who is to take the throne of his father David. Also before his birth God described his coming to the earth by prophet Isaiah 9: ....6For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. Every prophet before Jesus said there's only ONE God with no partners. And the prophet after Jesus who was Muhammad (pbuh) said the same thing. That leaves the teaching of Christianity sticking out like a sore thumb. Ya'll never question that? After all, the Kings of Egypt said they were gods in human form. So did the hindus. So why Christians assume even with Jesus raising the dead, having no father, and calling God father in heaven somehow means he is the son of God OR that he actually is God in human form? This is totally inaccurate and blasphemy to the divinity of God! How dare anyone say that God would ever share power or even need to share power with another form of himself? And this form was birthed through a woman which God himself created? This is a vile misconception that has been passed down from the pagan Romans. Stop believing in this and associating partners with the one true God!!

It is ridiculous, since no where is such a proclamation made in the Scriptures nor from the early Church. Muhammad believed and taught things mostly literal, and the Hadith furthers this literal interpretation to the detriment and confusion of many generations of Muhammad followers. Son of God is a spiritual connotation, depicting a spiritual understanding of what God promised through the many Hebrew prophets and fulfilled in Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One, who quite surprisingly Islamic theology states is NOW alive in heaven . . . AND will return to fight against the antichrist. Interesting isn't it? And where is Muhammad? Still dead and buried in the Arabian desert. @@bardowesselius apologies for the late response, somehow I missed this response to my answer. Christ literally exclaimed to be "One" with God and messaged He is God. This was clearly understood by the listeners, and thus they accused Christ of blasphemy. Notice Christ did not back down, nor made an excuse, but explained how and why. The argument about whether Christ meant spirit or purpose or essence or being actually ignores the message expressed and what was not only clearly understood by the listeners, but what has been continuously taught since then. Elsewhere Christ proclaimed to be God... and it is there to be read, while only God grants the gift of faith. This isn't an exercise in logic or rationale, but revealing who has been gifted faith to believe and who hasn't.

Good debater, but starts with a straw man. Jesus never said exactly x..... and then proceed to ignore passages that say it in other ways. Jesus did not come to be worshipped, which is why he did not say worship Him. Jesus came to teach, to fulfill the law, and to be the sacrifice of God for reconciliation and atonement. All of these things are expressed not only by Jesus but affirmed multiple times throughout scripture in both the Old and New Testaments. As for Abraham and Adam being a son of God. I think we can agree that there is something different between being a son of God and the son of God. The Jewish leaders certainly understood the difference and knew that he was not claiming to be like Adam or Abraham. I'd be happy to debate him any time.
