While it may seem like that...what happens when he finally gets a chance to clear up misconceptions? In the I am chapter, I believe he had to run away because they started throwing rocks at him. I can say i am the alpha and omega when it comes to rules in my home. no sane person will say i am claiming to be God. I am claiming to be the authority. If we look at context and include all the times Jesus repeated that he is a prophet in addition to the verse you quoted...we see what Jesus really meant. In fact, we don't even need to use this verse. We can clearly see that jesus answered this question clearly. Unfortunately, this is what happens when you read a passage in a vacuum with a pre-determined conclusion. Look before and after this verse and you will see that Jesus is not talking about God having per creation knowledge. He says Abraham saw Me. After he says I Am, they pick up stones to kill him. 'I am' is the title God used to show moses that he is inescapable. 'I am' means he is in the past, present, future, like saying "'I am' everywhere, in every time frame, I cannot be escaped". This is why the demons tremble, he knows everybody's next move, because he encompasses all time, he was telling Moses, to tell Israel "I AM" because God knows the complete rejecting of him, to the complete accepting of him, he knew that he was going to deliver Israel, and that they would disobey in the wilderness, and he presented himself as the one who sees everything from beggining to the end. Jesus pbuh saying "I am" adequately refers to himself in whatever form (i.e spirit, soul or accurately God's knowledge that he will create such persons) and not the born person Jesus pbuh. 1. The Jeremiah 1:5 argument is severely flawed. It literally just means that God knew of the future humans that would be His sons and daughters as creation, knowing the purpose God set for them and how He designed them 2. Saying that “I Am” means God means that “Before Abraham was, I Am” means Before Abraham was God, is also a flawed argument. It disregards that “I Am” is just God’s name as He eternally exists, which is why He just is, therefore why His name is “I am”. Since Jesus eternally existed, He too simply *is*, which is why He says “Before Abraham was, I Am”.

Jesus in original Hebrew Is Yahshua meaning "Yah" short form of Yahweh and "shua" in Hebrew means Salvation. Therefore Jesus was the only anointed one to save humanity. To be known by God before he was born does not mean that Jeremiah had a physical/spiritual/conscious existence prior to his birth. Jesus did. In saying “I am”, Jesus is declaring his eternal existence as God. Even if Nakir Naik doesn’t understand it, the Jews at the time did. In the vernacular and within the context, Jesus was claiming to be God. That is why in the very next verse “they picked up stones to stone him,” Why? For blasphemy, because He, a mere man, claimed to be God.

I appreciate this wise man and his knowledge of the Bible, but this is a poorly made criticism. No one can make the statement "before Abraham was, I am", because to be this "I am" in the context of what "I am" is referring to, that would suggest that before Abraham, I am IS God. It is a blasphemous statement to make as His creations. When you read the verse after Jesus said this, the reactions from the Jews prove why it is. They know "I am" is only from and is God, they would never utter this phrase/name to apply to themselves simply being the knowledge of God.
