Am a Christian and I ask myself would I send any of my children to enteral hell no matter what they did and I think to myself no because I love them dearly but the thing I find hard is that God says he's a god of love yet he would send billions of people to hell just because they either get their walk with him wrong or because they didn't believe in him, enteral hell means torment for ever and ever I find this hard to comprehend.

The flip side is that the Old Testament, Paul & the 17 sermons in the book of Acts never mention hell. How stunning! As for Jesus ... (1) He did refer to "Gehenna" a few times and once or twice to "Hades." Gehenna was and is a real place in Jerusalem and probably served as its garbage dump, which would explain the fire and worms. "Gehenna" probably also served as a metaphor for afterlife punishment and/or the upcoming destruction of the temple by the Romans in 70 A.D. Actually if you had read Isaiah the last chapter hell is mentioned in the last verse. ““And they shall go forth and look Upon the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. (Amos 5:6) See also Lev. 6:13, Isa. 1:31, Isa. 34:10 There aren't any biblical examples of "unquenchable" or a variant meaning forever. -------- As for the "worm that never dies," Gehenna, which was probably Jerusalem's garbage dump in Jesus' day, bred worms continually because of all the foul things thrown in there. Whenever there was anything foul to consume, the worms would appear. It doesn't mean that a worm will eat you for all eternity.
