Very nice! Ever since my bench DC power supply died on me I've been using two of my 7500 milliamp hour drone batteries in parallel for testing 12 volt devices. I really like this power supply and it's reasonably priced also! Another great find Alex!! Every time I watch your videos I know I'm going to be spending more money! 😁💰😂🤣

LOL!! You are just like me, I don't like to spend money if I don't have to, I actually was using an old computer power supply but since I'm going to be doing some more technically videos I figured I add one of this adjustable ones to the arsenal. Cheers David!

I just bought this model power supply off Amazon since there was a 25% coupon which brought the price down to almost the price of my second choice. Thank you for the review of this particular model. Can't wait to try it out on my project.

I've been wanting a variable DC power supply for so long and just picked up this exact unit, the Jesverty SPS-3010, from Amazon and it was just delivered earlier today. It was a better priced value than the other units I saw. I set the volt and amp limits to test it out charging some small 12 volt SLA batteries and it seems to be working great. I hear absolutely no slight whine, but that doesn't surprise me as my hearing isn't great at all. The instructions saying to first set the voltage below 5 volts kinda threw me off for awhile, but I figured it out fairly soon, and was able to set the max amps, then the max voltage in order to use it properly.

@@TrunkThunderLithium Hi! Yes while some people use a power supply to charge batteries, I personally do not use it for that purpose since it's just a simple power supply and lacks any BMS built in (Knowledge of battery chemistry, charging requirements, rates, voltages etc would be critical for that application) This is one the reasons I only use a dedicated battery charger for my batteries as opposed to a power supply, I experienced first hand a house fire potentially caused during a battery being charged here is what happened kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpe6mH1uo9pgiKM Cheers!

I have read the instructions and have not found an answer to my problem. I was using the power supply to test a small 12v automotive motor for a car seat. I made my connections and turned the power on. The only lite to come on was the Constant Current lite came on, no voltage reading, no current reading, no wattage reading. Since there isn’t any trouble shooting appendix in the manual. Can you please give me any information as to what I can do to cancel out the constant current light and return the power supply back to factory settings?

Does it have reverse polarity protection ?
@AlexAutoFun
@AlexAutoFun Жыл бұрын
Hi Ozzy! Typically reverse polarity protection is a feature built in on the receiving end (the device that needs power) not on the power supply side. This is just a standalone power supply that gives the user full control over voltage, current and polarity. So you can definitely fry something if the power supply is used incorrectly. Cheers!

I just bought this unit and found your review. I'm having problems using it to actually put 20V into a battery system. I set the Constant Current mode to 4 amps, then connected it to the battery box, adusted to 20.0 volts and the current is basically random. I can twist the current knobs, nothing happens. Then it will jump up and overshoot to over 5 amps. If I just nudge the knob, it will slowly drop down or jump between CC and CV mode with random voltage and current values. Hmmm. I'm not impressed by this unit. It's that classic line: "You had one job."!

@@AlexAutoFun Sure I understand. The unit I'm testing is an Allpowers S300 energy storage system, driving the solar power input jack to simulate charging it with solar. I haven't tested the power supply with anything else so I just thought its behaviour was strange. I'll test it with other equipment soon.

@MikesTropicalTech Hi Mike! Ah yes Allpowers, they have some good units, I actually reviewed a couple of them and their solar panels. I would be extremely careful, contact Allpowers for support, they maybe be able to help but also remember it is possible that using something else other than the solar panel it was designed for could cause issues to the unit (or warranty coverage) but Allpowers should be able to confirm this for you, Cheers!

BTW: its prolly obvious, but you can use the Gnd for a voltage divider say 30v from +- and insert 2 100 ohm 100 watt resistors minus to gnd and positive to gnd and get 15v at center tap gnd. Good for audio amp supplies, But I would get the 60volt 5 amp version. then you get +30,-30 or the 120VDC 2 amp version then you get +60-60 at 2 amps but its still 240 watts which if that translates through the audio amp as watts is quite a few 240 Watts. Prolly more realistically like 100 watts at the speaker. Im talking about those cheap $17 500w audio amps on Amazon. +50 and -50vdc will give you 100watts to speaker +80 and -80VDC will give you 400 speaker watts

Would this power a ham radio and a linear amp pulling 10 amps radio pulls 10 ish too
@AlexAutoFun
@AlexAutoFun Жыл бұрын
Hi! It would depend on the voltage requirement of the radio, the 10A version will only go up to 30VDC. But I also recommend not to run power supplies at their limit, normally the rule of thumb I see is to run them at max of 75% of the capacity. So if you need constant 10A, then I would go for a higher Amp rating like this one amzn.to/46rggj0 or this one amzn.to/46mZUYX if you need to adjust the voltage. Cheers!

Any idea what “OPN” is?
@AlexAutoFun
@AlexAutoFun Жыл бұрын
Hi Chloe! Where did you see that at?
@johnviera3884
@johnviera3884 Жыл бұрын
OPN is available on the model with an on/off output switch. OPN is a mode so that it automatically turns on to the last selected voltage and amps output and automatically provides a power supply output. this is so if you want to use it as a dedicated power supply. Just like you would a wall wart power supply. If you set it to 12V 2 amps and turn on the OPN, every time you turn the unit on it will automatically start outputting at 12V 2 amps. With OPN off it turns on with the output in the off position

Hi A! Ah this is my personal power station that I use for my projects related to my channel, so didn't want to do a teardown and risk breaking something or getting hurt touching something I shouldn't LOL but will keep in mind for future reviews (while the teardown idea is cool, keep in mind marking on components can't always be trusted, specially on products at this price point, the counterfeit component market is huge and detection is almost a specialized technique based on what I saw when I was in the industry).
