This baffles me. Because it has been decades since car racers established beyond a shadow of a doubt that a steering wheel must be gripped at 9 and 3 - and NOT 10 and 2. And when your hands are at 10 and 2, your elbows should be bent at 90 degrees. No more. No less. Doing this ensures that when you make a turn, you are pushing your shoulders into the back of the seat, for more stability in the seat. On top of this, we know that pushing UP on the outside hand is required to make a smooth turn, and that the inside hand must not pull down when turning. Additionally, it looks like trim switches have been mounted on the front of the wheel, instead of on the back of the wheel spoke where they should be. Imagine if cars had gear paddles that sat on the front of the wheel! Yeah - not good.
