I love how Jackie Chan has been able to break the type casting by bringing comedy to the audience and looping his talents to not mimic Bruce Lee when he was more popular. That was brilliant! Such longevity in his career!

I always described the old Jackie Chan films and fights as "winning by accident", where he wasn't one step ahead of the opponent, or two steps ahead, he wasn't even half a step ahead, he was barely keeping up and his secret weapon was luck. It was very unique, and so expertly executed, it felt like magic how each sequence tied into each other like falling backwards into a victory.

Jackie Chan is so humble, his movies are amazing and remind me of buster keaton or charlie chaplin. He is in a league of his own in modern cinema. Not to take away from Bruce lee who was a pioneer and is an icon in his own right. But even the best Bruce lee movies never made me wonder _how did they film that?_ And with Jackie Chan I've been amazed more times than I can count. Absolutely phenomenal movie star. His movies will always entertain and amaze. Timeless pieces one after another. I love Jackie Chan. (Edit) to put it another way, when I think of bruce lee I think of sylvester stallone, arnold swarzenegger, wesly snipes. All amazing actors with amazing films, but again not as spectacular as: Jackie Chan, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Tom Cruise. When it comes to action movies performers who can do their own stunts just speak more to the imagination. They make me want to go to the cinema. Where as action stars i'm okay with seeing them at home.

Bro u an og for this comment I was scrolling thru the comments to see if any one would acknowledge Donnie perspective cuz he hit the nail on the head but everyone mostly was on Jet or Jackie, and to not discredit both either, I was just hoping to see it. What stuck out to me about Donnie is that he also is a true fighter like Bruce was like they trained and acted in a sort of way that complemented their martial arts mindset cuz Donnie is true fighter the MMA style that he incorporates with his already knowledgeable and polished Chinese kung fu makes him very unique. The way he talked about how after Bruce's passing that the sort of fluidity and "finesse" and "rhythm" as he put it that Bruce incorporated and developed into his movies that made him such a star was lost to all the Bruce-isms that other actors tried to copy like the signature scream and so on, I felt and believed every word because like he said at the time even tho martial arts movies were so small in the wide world of cinema it was a specific niche that being a good martial artist wasn't enough if you were going to put it on the big screens for other consumers to enjoy and while some companies and some actors may have found a formula and what not that might've worked Bruce came with an original style that stood out and stuck that separated him from others. Donnie is truly not more appreciated enough but I love him so much and the fact that he mentioned Sugar Ray Leonard and boxing and other martial arts that he has incorporated into his repertoire just spoke volumes to me gosh I love all these guys Jackie Donnie Jet Bolo and most of all Bruce man I just love my Kung fu action cinema its such a joy to experience.
