William Hayward Pickering, perhaps the most influential director of the JPL, all the way from the little town of Havelock New Zealand. A great man.

would it surprise you that jpl use an oakgrove ave, Pasadena address ? if you look at a map of Pasadena border lines, you will see it snakes it way through the middle of flintridge and altadena ...however, the bulk of the lab is in the Flintridge side
