Air Gear's inspired by Jet Set Radio, so much so that Hideki Naganuma did music for Air Gear under the name Skankfunk.

yes he did @@FoxhoundIbby

Such a bummer to not get Naganuma's input but what a treat to see Richard Jacques and Scapegoat Wax talking about Naganuma's work. Truly, truly awesome.

So grateful they were down to discuss the game. And grateful for Hideki Naganuma at least giving the video a shoutout 🥲

Thank god the project halftone version of the sequal isnt what we got. The locked bpm for the soundtrack for the sake of making it more explicitly a rhythm game, the atrocious high-contrast artstyle where half the screen is flat informationless neons and black, the lack of connection to or representation of hiphop culture, the inherently neutered messaging and non-violent stance the creator wanted to take. It just wouldve been baaaad. I really do admire the work he did and our shared passion for the franchise, Im just happy thats not what we're getting because I just dont think its *right*, you know?

Instead of a new call of duty every year, how about a new jet set radio??! 📻
