This is how I anchor offshore. Practice and develop a method that works for you.

Great video mate. Maybe some people have some quibbles with a few little things here and there, but I didn't know a damn thing about how to really put down an anchor on a jet ski before and now I do. Cheers.

This is the BEST jet ski anchoring concept, I have found thus far. This video needs a few refinements: 1) The camera has to be focused at the point of interest. 2) The instructor should explain what the rig consist of and how the parts interact......skip the unrelated info. 3) The deployment & retrieval of the rig must be demonstrated slowly. 4) This concept will easily fit within a 7 min video. Thank you snowismas for sharing this concept....an edited video will be a tremendous success with fishing jet skiers.

Awesome info, thanks for taking the time to explain all that. I am buying the same setup! I will also use the anchor bag full of sand for a stern anchor while at the sandbar to anchor off shore a bit to avoid dragging the hull through sand to beach. Also avoid getting stuck with tide changes. Saltwater application.

I loved this video. It told me a lot of what I think I might need to know. I'm trying to set up a rig for the Niagara River that can keep me from going over Niagara Falls should something go wrong. Your set-up is for ocean. Is there anything else that I'd need to know for my river?

Don’t worry about the critical dicks. Some people don’t really get the concept of advice. My only question would be if your pick up line is connected to the quick release and the tide/current is running strong would it be better to have one line for release and one for picking up the anchor?
@snowismas3 жыл бұрын
Ah, they don’t bother me one bit. Don’t like my way, go make up ur own. I don’t fish rivers, so strongest current will be in the ocean, even at very fast currents it still works. Sometimes if there is to much pressure on the line the quick release will be hard to release and may fly back at you. Just start ski and idle forward a bit to take the tension off. Don’t recall if I said that in the video.

Thanks, great job, keep it up.

40 ft deep will require 280 feet of rope... chain is used for at least two purposes... first, to add weigh to the anchor end.. second, to prevent the anchor end rope from being cut by sharp coral and rocks.

For what I do it doesn't. I didn't just make this video on a whim. For what I do I know what works.

Thanks for the video . If you tie a knot in the front rope it won't be able to slide out 👍🏼

Scope length.... 7 to 1... every foot of depth requires 7 ft of rope length in normal coniditions..
@snowismas6 жыл бұрын
GUNNA SCAOILTE I’m aware of scope length. But carrying that much rope just isn’t possible. My method works, do it this way and you can anchor in 80’. I do carry extra rope Incase it gets rougher and I absolutely must anchor for some reason.

If u have a link for that quick release clip i would appreciate that 👏🏽👏🏽

Dre it’s called a quick release snap shackle
@captseamus6 жыл бұрын
There's a reason why the shanks the you cut off were manufactered with that length in mind... maybe you should do some research on anchor design before chopping a design to prevent the anchor from twisting and flipping..

GUNNA SCAOILTE by all means do it your way. For what I do I know what works.

Try again mate .... here`s a rope, here`s a rope, here`s a chain, etc. etc. .... too much too quickly.
