There's a lot of rails getting built for Merlins event but there's one very noticeable difference with your build, it is immaculately clean and precise. I think yours will stand out amongst the crowd for this

Your old style speed wrench, back in aviation we called them speed handles. Everyone had one. They were priceless when removing hundreds of #10 countersunk inspection panel screws from the bottom of an airplane wing. It was essential that they had the wide profile handle rather than the slim type handle, that way you could put much more pressure on the screws while turning them at the same time. I still have mine, comes in handy every now and then. Enjoying the build, lotta fun.

Hi Jimmy. I think the best place for that speed wrench (bolt head distroyer) is right in the back of the bottom drawer or better still donate it to Merlin for a crank handle for the Model T.😂. Great build. Just like the neatness of your work.

Actually back in the late 60’s 70’s Snapon had a version of this ratchet. The bend on it was closer to the head and then the rest of the handle was straight up and down and centred on the ratchet head. Some of the really old guy’s like me might remember it.

You top fan for air induction/ extraction, I feel needs to be like Matt’s (Matt’s off-road recovery) which is shaped like a turbo which would pull or push which ever rotation the fan operates best of luck Jimmy 😎

Gone thru a few flex head ratchets, lol. Still find a few things the speed wrench works for. Saw a few corvair rigs years ago (well, decades, lol), buddy had used the transaxle for a SB 400, in a 4 seater, really scooted! Gotta love the effort you're putting into this rig, should be a special keeper! Looking forward to how it runs, should be a barrel of FUN! Thanx !

To anybody without previous knowledge of your ratchets design, at first it seems unusual but watching the ease with which you use it...Makes sense. Electric ratchets....Not a Fan either.

Good job. Enjoyed the show. Crazy thinking about all the VW's and Corvairs running around not in the vehicles they came in! I got a VW trike but the motor is a 2330 cc aftermarket with twin webers.

Hey Jimmy SK makes a swivel head that’s puts Snap off to shame! It swivel from the center of the head and won’t kick out like the Snap off will! I bought my first one in 1959 and still use it. At one time GM made a belt guide that bolted to the blower housing to help keep the belt in place.

I worked on aircraft most my life and on some engines I was pulling rocker covers every 25 hours of operation. I applied a tin coat of EZ-Turn lubricant. fuel nd oil will not cut it and the next time I pulled the rover covers and gaskets released and I was able to reuse the gaskets!

Hey jimi, luv your show, great job on the buggy, the speed wrench thing you said I have a hard time, buying that one, I as I'm sure many others figured out what you did it dose act as a speed wrench, but not it's intended purpose I'm shocked that Snap-On actually claimed this #1) you can still buy a "speed handle" #2) it was bent to get one into octward places od-angled places, geezers even Google lists it that way, so I'm left to believe you said this on purpose to get a shitload of comments which helps a channel because everything I've seen of you and Merlyn says you know far better than to call it a way of speed wrenching. I can remember back working on our 350cid 72 Vega and I actually bent a 3/8" socket handle and started wishing they would make 3/8" handles longer wit a bent tip, and the Tool manufacturers must of been listening to the Mechanical Godz out there because all of a sudden they started making that way, anyways nice build, look forward to new builds ah!
