11:42 how do you replace them with aluminum tubing?
@varner2262 күн бұрын
Pro tip: If there's a back draft while that grease is burning, it will potentially burn up the circuit board... Hint: it will eventually happen, unfortunately. As expected, great resto on the trailer. It's great to have you back! Happy New Year!

Hey wondering where to hook up a water hose when tuning, I saw in this where it’s hooked and does not run through the engine at all.

Hi Jim, My 1986, Kawasaki 440 runs then cuts out for no apparent reason. Have got any suggestions. Rgds Andrew, South Africa
@jetskijim00719 күн бұрын
you need to determine if it is cutting out from fuel starvation, or losing spark. Once you figure that out, it is a long process to resolve. If it is fuel, look at fuel pump rebuild, or carburetor rebuild, if it is spark related, replace spark plugs, change spark plug caps/ and cut 1/4 inch off the wire end, check stator (they will fail if engine gets too hot, and will work again when engine cools)

A new video from Jim!! Yay! I hope you have been well. Your trailer was definitely due for an upgrade. That powder coat and the modifications turned out very nice. What bunk spacing do you use and do you wrap them with anything? Happy new year! Definitely interesting to think back to what was happening 20 years ago
@jetskijim00719 күн бұрын
12.5" center to center. I don't wrap them, I might coat just the sides with epoxy, but I like how the bare wood grips the boat just enough that it doesn't bounce around, but will let it slide on and off without too much resistance.

Another great video. Almost forgot who you were... Are you going to put anything on the wood bunks or leave them bare?
@jetskijim00719 күн бұрын
Leave em bare. Carpet holds water, and they seem to rot faster.

@jetskijim007 excellent. Always wondered if that would cause hull damage. Have seen you trailer your skis. Apparently not lol.. Thanks for the great tips as always...

Have you ever dried out a Kawasaki750/800 exhaust? Or have a video that you made that I can’t find. Love watching very informative
@jetskijim00719 күн бұрын
no, unfortunately the 750/800 pipes are not a tuned exhaust, so it is really difficult to get more out of them. That is why they go so much faster when you bolt an aftermarket pipe on them. Bill Chapin of R&D used to cut up end cones of Westcoast pipes and weld them on to the stock exhaust, and it really woke them up, LOL.

Hey Jim. It was great to finally meet you at world finals this year. At 12:31 you are using a stater cover plug test cap. Is that something you made or is it possible to buy that cap somewhere? What psi are you pumping up to or are you pulling a vacuum when doing this test?
@jetskijim00719 күн бұрын
It is something I made. I test with both, no more than 3 psi, and any amount of vacuum will show leaks quickly. :-)

I have a TS that's been giving me cavitation issues since the day I bought it. I wish the pumps had replaceable wear rings like my Sea Doo, but I've tried 2 different pumps (both within wear limits according to the book), 2 different stock impellers and 1 aftermarket Mako stainless impeller. I replaced the factory (broken) intake grate and an aftermarket scooped WoT grate and even installed a longer Ocean Pro ride plate. Everything I do gives me cavitation. After the last parts swap, I sealed up the ride plate, pump and grate with silicon. My last test drive before winter set in allowed me to get up to speed if I made a sharp turn and slowly accelerated. It would cavitate if I turned the other direction or went strait. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to reseal everything?
@jetskijim00719 күн бұрын
Hello, I am doing a video right now on sealing these 650 pumps.. They are tricky, So i hope the video will help you out. Look for it in the coming weeks. :-)

I live out there.. So cool to see all the crazies having a blast.. they put those boats up to 180+ mph on the water Saturdays.. on boat parade day there isn't one single open spot for 2 miles in that area.

@jetskijim0072 ай бұрын
Man, it has been many many years since I have seen a waveraider intake tract, but I thought for sure it was the same as the blaster, which is the same as the superjet. You need to check it out, because there is enough play in those, you could probably install a superjet one and it would work fine.
