Jet2 Trip Report - Glasgow to Tenerife - BRAND NEW B737-800 - G-JZHV

Trip report from Jet2 flight LS155 from GLA to TFS on Friday 24th March 2017. This was my first trip with Jet2 and I was really impressed with them. I was also lucky to get a brand new aircraft...only 4 weeks old. This is one of 30 737's that Jet2 are receiving over the next 2 years.
I was impressed with many aspects of their service as well as the on board prices for food and drink. The amount of legroom available is great... bear in mind this is a low cost airline. I will definitely be flying with Jet2 again.

Great report, you may have noticed now you can’t be dropped of outside the main terminal anymore at Glasgow, as it’s all bordered off and the police wait around there. Now you have to go to the drop off car park, which is very deer.

I had a new plane on the way back as well... G-JZHK ... again... nothing to complain about. I was half hoping for a 757 to mix it up a bit... but I don't think they fly the 757 to Glasgow anymore.

Flown Jet2 several times from Glasgow. Vienna bound this September too. Can't fault them really. For a Low Cost Carrier they deliver the goods and I quite like their policy towards drunken or unruly behaviour. Makes for a peaceful experience. ;) The Hen Party must have been well behaved... lol. Subbed. Nice work.

Cool Vid. i`m flying jet2 for the first time in September. EGCC to LHBP. Only 2 airlines fly direct from Man to Bud - Jet2 and Ryanair. Ryanair was quite a bit cheaper but i chose to fly with Jet2. Flown with Ryanair before and it really sucks!!

They are a great company with nice staff, spacious cabins and an immaculate safety record. We use them all of the time! 22kg WOW + 10KG HAND LUGGAGE! I cant fault :) Where do you buy the window camera mounts???

The 10kg's in hand luggage makes short trips away possible without hold luggage! :-) the suction cups / mounts are available on eBay. Look at this on eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141818419165 they are cheap as chips and are great for getting steady footage on any moving vehicle! :-)

Unfortunately down in the depths of Devon we dont have Jet2, its a shame though as they seem to be a good carrier with more luggage allowance and legroom. I also like the livery. Liked your video & thanks for sharing.

Hey im planning on flying with this airline and taking a carry on and a regular size backpack. Do you know if they measure or weigh carry on luggage at the check in desk or upon boarding?

They do weigh your hand luggage at the check in desk and have those "does it fit in this box" things, but I wasn't asked to put my bag in there. You be fine if it doesn't look obviously bigger than the permitted dimensions. The hand luggage max weight is 10KGs. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. :-)

Jess P thanks for watching! :-). Yes they did have a trolley service where you could buy food. You can also pre-book proper meals online before your flight. The couple next to us did that and the meals looked quite nice. :-) no free drinks though...although it is not too expensive.

@Jess P you still get food? Airlines from uk- spain do 2 trolley services of food and drink and once crusing and then 3/4 through, then before descent they do another service to buy aftershave, alcohol spirits etc to take away with you, with special offers etc.

Thanks for watching Shaun. This video was actually filmed using my Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. The camera on it records in 4K (apparently). For the window shots I used my trusty Qumox SJ4000 action camera. It records in 1080p and provides a great picture at a much lower cost than a GoPro. (About 50% cheaper). You can now get 4K versions of it.

Im planning a trip to america to see my relatives which airline should i use British airways or Emrits baring in mind the tickets are the same price. Im going in the standard cabin.

Hi Joel. Okay, as you can see on my channel, I have travelled with both of these airlines long haul in recent times. If the tickets are the same price, I would personally choose Emirates. Their IFE and food is really good and the staff have always been courteous and friendly on my trips with them. I have used them many times over the past 12 years and am yet to have what I would call a bad experience. British Airways were fine, although their fleet is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to in cabin experience. There is another channel called BorneanWingz which does great trip reports and he has covered some of British Airways newer planes like the 787. I would fly BA again, but would choose Emirates over BA. So I would personally choose Emirates. Things to take into consideration though is what type of fare you are getting with Emirates.... Is it "Special", "Saver" or "Flexible"? If it is "Special", you only get 20Kg's of hold luggage. The other 2 fares ("Saver" and "Flexible") give you 30KG's in the standard cabin. (Economy). Just something to think about, as BA is 23KG's in the standard cabin. Where are you flying from?

I looked at some footage that I didn't make the final cut and it looks like 3 rows down from the emergency exit has a blacked out window. It must have been about row 12 as I was in row 19. Hope that helps. :-)

Robbie Sharp thanks for watching. Jet2 have been flying 737-800's for some time (Years)... but that particular plane (G-JZHV) was delivered brand new in February this year (2017).

@@intransit9333 Yeah, jet2 first 737-800 was in 2011, now they have over 60 737-800 and by January they'll have a total fleet of at least 100 aircraft in theyre fleet (currently it's 92) i know the 733's are retiring soon, which never comes to GLA anyway, the new ones were first delivered in September 2016, with deliveries since then.
