@@Apotheosis1113 it’s not what’s in the noodles that’s exactly horrible. It’s the lack of anything with nutrition. Your body needs sodium, along with many other things that, without moderation, are bad for you.

It's more healthier the way that he suggested to cook the noodles in a boil water and drain and new water soup so by doing that you reduce the fat grease and sodium level in the noodles. But the ingredients contain lots of sodium so half is good...

Better for health but not for the taste. I do not know much about other countries’ instant ramen but ramyeon companies’ labs calculate and balances the amounts of oil and other ingredients for the flavor. They change the thickness of noodles and ratio of oil and seasoning depending on the packaging, cup and and pack, for the same product. I tried rinsing the noodle and it tastes clean but lacks flavor. It was better for him to rinse the noodle because each product has that distinct flavor added to it when it’s fried in a certain oil.

Only refined olive oil should be fried even if the native olive oil is healthier when not exposed to heat. Native olive oil releases toxic compounds (Acrylamide, Acrolein) when heated up to 160 degrees. Most people buy native olive oil since it's healthier when not heated up but they often times don't know it shouldn't be used to fry.

I love asian people, and used to work at a family run Chinese restaurant, they treated me like family, and at the end of work, they invited me each night to sit at the table and have dinner with them. I like how you both eat from the same plate, which is something I've never seen before. Much closeness in family. I'll share your video on FB :)

He's an iron chef so I can be critical. Italian grandmothers would die if they saw fresh basil going into that piping hot oil. They would just hit the floor immediately. You would probably need to do CPR. Once you revive the italian grandma, they will hit the floor again once they see how much garlic is going in with the tomato sauce. You also don't waste pasta water, but they are stale noodles so maybe we can give him a pass on that. Seriously though awesome video I learned a few cool techniques. Take my like/sub.

I'm an adult, and I'm not broke, and I still buy those Nongshim Shin Ramyun noodles. They're tasty, man. No judgment here.

@@colina1330 Pretty sure he was reffering specifically to the one that had pandas in it, not just ramen noodles in general lol.

10:15 Admittedly, I do most of the cooking at my house. The making of fire is indeed a lot of fun! 🔥😃 btw, excellent! I will need to try this approach for the taste. 11:55 What's wrong with fish cake? I grew up eating a lot of it. Great on a garden salad!

Stumbled upon this video and it's great. Loved watching your dad on Top Chef Masters, way back when. For me, he came out as the true master chef! 👌🏼 I'd eat anything he cooks.
