I found that it's better to not to throw the anchor, rather lower it such that it lands flat and facing the desired direction, then after allowing 3x depth apply resistance to drive it down. My lake floor is pure mud, this method results in a reliable hold that doesn't slip

I added a zip tie every 10 feet so I know how much line I have out. Been working for 3 seasons so far

@@RickRoush03 I walk out to the stern anchor and pull it. Then we motor up to the bow anchor and pull it once we're on top of it.

Will the Fortress fit in the anchor compartment on the SeaDoo Switch? I got the Switch anchor kit, and the rubber coating has completely fallen off and now is rust staining the floor mats every time it drips on them.

@icfuchs no you want the 5lb kit, it fits great and holds well.

That anchor did not fit in my 2011 242 Limited S without modification. The Lewmar LFX fits in mine and is awesome for the sand bar. I had 0 luck with a box anchor.

@@Woot30 we stowed ours under a seat in our 24. The stern anchor in this video fit our 24 anchor locker perfect.

You just have to trim about a 1/2 inch off the cross bar of the FX7 prior to assembly. Anchor holds great in all bottoms.

Please, always secure the end of your anchor rode to your boat in the anchor locker. Why you ask? Because your anchor is your emergency brake i.e. if your lose power and your drifting towards shore you need to throw the anchor and in the excitement you or your crew might forget to tie it off before all the line is deployed!!

@riter2818 some have claimed that tying to the eye inside their locker has created issues with loosening the bolts for the toe eye. It sounds strange I know, but I have heard it before. I agree with you though, it's best to have it secured permanently.
