I have something to say. Whenever anyone says a blues artist sounds like the Black Keys, they are right, because the Black Keys sound like every blues musician before them. So please focus and understand, this is simply what blues sounds like.
@artysanmobile4 ай бұрын
It’s simply what great blues sounds like. And there’s not a whole lot of it about. I’ve snuck out the back door of many a pathetic show where players had the words, the key, the licks and absolutely nothing else that spoke to me. Blues is a feeling, not a sound, not a progression, and when some squeaky clean white boy band knows all the tricks, has the right instruments, dutifully plowing through the standards I literally have to run away. I no longer reflexively say sure! when asked if I want to “hear some blues.” Where I live - Fort Lauderdale - you can bet big on disappointment.

Reignwolf has worked very hard on that incredible guitar sound, sending effects to separate amps which share the load of a complex, heavily distorted sound. I’m just crazy impressed by his music.

I think it's probably just hot where he is. Aided by the fact of how hard he's playing that's most likely why he's sweaty.

Oh how wrong you are. He is beyond sexy. Totally lost within the raw passion of the song (which is a state he's continuously in), the sheer dirtiness in his playing and vocals... Absolutely attractive.

I'm only gonna say that this guy has nothing to do with Jack White, Dan Auerbach, The Blue Van or any other mainstream "pop" modern blues guitar rockers. Fact is, he was playing in blues houses his whole life. The comparisons make for great drama but the reality is this is no pissing contest and if it was...This guy is to this genre like Muddy is to Waters, Stevie is to Ray and Vaughn, Bo is to Diddly, BB is to King. He has played with a host of veteran blues players out there, never mind a scene in Saskatoon and the rest of the Canadian prairies that has spawned a host of great and talented, successful Guitar based musicians. Remember, this is the same place that saw Joni Mitchell get inspired. Anyway, I get rubbed raw when the only comparisons to JC are always those two guys like they invented the damn genre. He isn't trying to be either of those guys. I know he respects them, but kinda like Miles did the Bird, or Louis A, Glen Miller. The Beatles or the Rolling Stones. As Metric would say. BTW Jack White never brought blues back...it never left to begin with.
@andrewhorton61207 жыл бұрын
Lol that sounds like a rumor started by... Jack White...
@austin75305 жыл бұрын
To disregard dan Auerbach is hilarious. Pay less attention to turn blue and the recent pop -esq stuff and listen to the old albums. Dan Auerbach is quietly one of the greatest guitar players of all time and almost single handedly kept blues alive from 2000- 2012. Anyone who doesn’t agree with that hasn’t done their research. Reignwolf is closer to a jack white type with a Chris Cornell influence. I can hear some hound dog Taylor in their too and the timing of bb king
