When Mr Barre steps forward into the spotlight and unleashes his soloing wizardry, every true Tull fan is ecstatic and awestruck. One of my greatest regrets is that I failed to see Tull live in their halcyon period. The whole album Aqualung is sheer timeless brilliance.

For all the criticisms Anderson got for rehearsing 6 days a week/10-12 hours a day, I’ve never seen or heard one bad performance. That’s still as impressive today (2020) as it was during the 60s and 70s.

Yes. I saw this new DVD release advertised on Ebay a few days ago. It's only available in the U.K. for now. It has previously UNSEEN footage, including stuff like "My God", "Cross-Eyed Mary" and "One Brown Mouse." This release is a result of the big BBC - EMI deal to open up the BBC video vaults which have been closed for YEARS.
@tzulutron33232 жыл бұрын
The live 1980 version on here rocks the best of all the live ones. Mark Craney kills the drums 🥁 on that entire run, the last chorus comes in so aggressive and tight,please check it out. He also played with Gino Vanelli, BTB album is my fave
@brianlobo15129 ай бұрын
Yeah Mark and Martin were both wailing out during the guitar solo section. His drum fills were much more technical and expressive throughout the entire song. Feels a bit empty on this version..

Though less "forté" than the 1976 live version in my opinion, it still rocked some American socks over there :). Anyone else noticed the part at 2:54 when he spins the uni-directional instrument microphone around, causing the video camera to flip? :P I think everybody's golden in their time. Watching them play today is hardly a shadow of what they used to be. Still, great stuff!
