Love Jethro Tull music in the 70s. Also if ya dig this song on youtube you may enjoy Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and also read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on KZbin. 😀

I saw them live in Melbourne only about a year after the album came out. Anderson was dressed as Aqualung. A riveting performance throughout, with Ian Anderson a commanding presence. The concert ended with total darkness and a solitary telephone rang, quietening the crowd. A spotlight came on Anderson, and he picked up the receiver and held it out to the adoring audience and whispered: 'It's for you'😆

The drummer was actually Mark Craney from South Dakota who was only in the band from 1980-82. He also played with the Fowler Bros Band, Gino Vanelli, and Jean Luc Ponty. After Tull he suffered kidney failure and diabetes and it cut his promising career short. Eddy Jobson is the violin/keyboard/fiddle player for this gig.

Aqualung is such a unique song. Loud in your face rock that quickly slows down in a beautiful classical melody, only to pick back up get get the listener’s face again. Topped with Ian’s iconic voice telling a story. There will never be another like Ian Anderson.

If you listen tho the melodies, each time it changes its a change in who is telling the story. The first, more staccato part is how strangers see him, the second with the acoustic guitar is how he sees himself, and the third more electric is how someone who knows him sees him. This song has many more layers than most people realize.

The drummer is immense! I saw him on a video of a Jeff Ocheltree video (excuse my spelling if I have got it wrong) and he was regarded as one of the best Jeff ever tech'd for. I believe he passed away some years ago! What a player he was, and largely unknown which is shame. He reminds me of Terry Bozzio.

With special guest Eddie Jobson on keys and violin, one of our greatest living musicians. Anderson and Jobson was a great pairing back in 1980, two music legends coming together to create the 'A' album and tour. Barre, Pegg and Craney completed this very special lineup.

I remember watching this track on MTV. The early years of music videos and this was by far the best live mini-concert performance ever by the frontrunner Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull. I thought at first that Jethro Tull was the singer, but didn't knew it was a music group. This is when real true inspired music comes to play.
