Having seen Jethro Tull all through the '70s and '80s, it's just so hard to watch this!!

I've listened to Tull through the 70s 80s 90s 00s 10s 20s ... as long as he is out there or selling albums. RocFlote was one of the best Tull albums - about the 3rd album where I can listen through the whole album and not want to skip a single track ... like Under Wraps, TAAB and probably others if I could think of them.

Tull were the first headline band I saw, at Sheffield City Hall in 1970. They were magnificent then and on the several occasions I saw them over the following seven years. Fair play to Ian for soldiering on, but this is painful to hear.

IA was THE greatest frontman I’ve ever seen, brilliant musician, composer and leader of my all time favourite band of all time. The operative word is “was” and, for me, Tull isn’t Tull without Martin Barre, another brilliant musician. Hurts me to say it but it’s time to call it a day.

Thank God it is not up to you ... RocFlote is one of the best Tull albums, and he could not keep doing low-profit albums if he did not tour, or keep the band employed.

I wish Ian would stop touring. He just can’t do these great songs Justice any longer . It’s downright painful to listen ……. By all means continue to make albums - he can still write and play the flute! What is it with these guys who just can’t call it a day -after living a fairy tale life! Ian 77 , McCartney 82 , Jagger 81 , Richards 81, Ringo 84, Dylan 83, Waters 80, Steve Howe and his tribute YES 77……. Is it the adulation they can’t live without ( certainly not the money)? When do they look in the mirror and say- job well done, fantastic run, but …………..

@johndortsch6494 0 seconds ago C'mon man. The guy's almost 80 years old. I saw TULL for the first time in the early 70s (Thick as a Brick). He was amazing then, and it's still amazing to see a legend perform. If you want to see someone perform with voice enhancement software, go see the Doobie Brothers. They sound 'perfect'. Ian Anderson is going to be who he is. Thank you for posting this. I love it!

Look, Ian wrecked his voice in 1980. Yes, he could've rigged up some voice thing, or hired a singer and just played flute and guitar. And yes, he is almost 80. But people do want to hear Ian's voice and flute. Still, this was a bit disappointing.

The new material might not bring in the crowds. I first saw Tull in '72 as a schoolboy. Fave band of all time, but I won't see him torture these songs anymore. Such a shame.

@@stevejones1921 I agree. I've seen Tull many times and the top band set was in the 70s. It's a pity that I always compare Tull and other bands with Tull of the 70s.

The band is not good is very bad this is not Jethro Tull just Ian Anderson and background members . Do you realize that in each presentation they play the same song ,locomotive breath , that’s because Ian Anderson and friends are not able to play Most of Jethro Tull songs due lack of qualities of members and Ian . Currently Ian can not sing and can not play acoustic guitar . His obstinacy continue, he has to understand , it is over .

@@paolo60333 No Jethro Tull was the best Prog Rock band until 2003 when they released The Christmas Album. Then Ian Anderson destroyed the band by firing old members as M Barre D Perry A Giddings and J Noyce . Then he formed a band with friends without the abilities to be member of JT . Besides that Anderson has lost all his abilities except the flute .
