Harry Greetings - Having a tough time connecting MGPS to my CB100...have a Jeti REX3 --> CB100 and trying the hand the MGPS off the Ext Port of the CB100 and Port 8 of the CB100. Can't get the transmitter to see the sensor. Been through the Jeti Box Menu...Any tips?

Mgps will work on Ext port or any E port set to Jetibox/Sensor. Is your connection from rx to CB correct, it must be Exbus, not PPM, not UDI, etc

@@cotswoldpilot Thank you very much Harry. I did check and verify, I am set to EXBus on Both the RexR3 side and the CB100 Side of things.

@@matthewfaiello8192 the socket that the mgps is plugged into must not be exbus, it must be jetibox/sensor

@@cotswoldpilot Harry, Some Progress. In Device Explorer, for the CB100, General Settings, I changed the Expander Settings for EXT from EXBus to Telemetry Input. I then went to Timers/Sensors --> Sensors/Logging Setup....and Now I see MGPS for the first time, with about 14 logging settings...Still more to do in Jeti Box but I will report-back. That CB100 Ext setting really confused me....I assumed it had to be the same on both the RexR3 side as the CB100 side. THANK YOU AGAIN!

I have followed this video several times and I do get all of the on screen indicators that you do at the very end. While I am in Functions Assignment and I press REV or press it again and select OK it toggles the GPS reset. But, the timer F4 button to start and stop the timer does not toggle the GPS reset. You can see this in the receiver output screen. The blue bar for the channel assigned to GPS Reset does not move position as you turn the timer on and off. Just wondering if you are actually getting success when you toggle F4 or if you thought you did when you saw it reset at the end of your video? Thanks so much!

Hi Paul, it does work but I see now that I failed to explain it in the video as I was still in the dark myself about how to set timer switching points. When assigning the timer as the control just toggle to the prop screen and manually set some very high value such as +98% as the switch point. Then a moment after starting the timer the servo output will flip from +100 to -100.

@@cotswoldpilot I have tried again several time but still not working. I have set everything up as you show and the function assignments as like yours at the very end of the video when yours works. I am not understanding what you mean when you are telling me to just toggle to the "prop screen". Can you explain how to get to the screen you are describing please? Thanks so much!

@@paulsnapp8674 When you assign a control you are presented with the "Select Input Control" screen. There are 3 types of switch methods and if you press the Prop. button the screen scrolls around them. However in the case of a timer there are only 2 switch methods so Prop. toggles between them. Press Prop. to go to the screen titled "Switch On: >" If you rotate the program dial you will see the % number change. That indicates where in the travel of a control the switchover point is. The "travel" of a countdown timer in the bar goes from right to left so if you set a switching point close to the far right then the travel of the timer along the bar from right to left will quickly pass the switching point. By setting a switch on point of say 98% the switch will be triggered soon after the timer is started.

Hi Harry. Looking at the manual I've just downloaded from Jeti (Nov 2020) it seems the MGPS can be directly connected to the EXT input on a receiver (as long as its the only sensor). Does that mean its now EXBus and I don't need a JetiBox?? I'm primarily interested in displaying real time ground speed on the transmitter display and do not want to use a JetiBox. Ta

Hi Nigel, unfortunately Jeti has 3 different telemetry protocols. The very old original system, still rarely used e.g. Spin Pro ESC, which can only be seen in jetibox/emulator, values not available for display in tx, alarms, logging etc. Ex telemetry, which is most sensors including the MGPS, settings done in jetibox/emulator but values can be logged, displayed on tx, alarms set, values spoken etc. Exbus, as Ex but settings done in Device Explorer. As a general rule of thumb, Ext port cannot be set to Exbus, so any sensor which can use Ext port such as MGPS is not an Exbus device. So, MGPS is not Exbus but all the data is available in real time for display, speaking, logging etc. Jetibox/emulator is only required to adjust its settings.

After pondering some more I've decided to use an MSPEED EX and use it for two things (take off air speed indication for a heavy Hurricane I have that has ended up wallowing around on occasion after dragging off too early) and initially in a Multiplex FunJet (just to see how fast it actually goes - very sad I know). I have vectoring on the motor thrust direction set up on the FunJet with a REX6 Assist to help with 3D maneuvering stability. Your videos on setting up the Assist have been VERY useful for that. I have to wait until the current lockdown is over before we open our flying site again to test out my setup.. Assuming they prove successful I'm happy to share the set up file with any other similar 'saddos' out there.. although I guess that like me those who have delved this far would enjoy the challenge of setting it up themselves. Settings include: Stability on or off on master switch, Normal damped mode, and Horizon hold mode (for the 3D attempts), real time gain adjust on all three axis (simultaneous on a slider) with voice read out, and vectoring on and off on a master switch. Plus all the usual stuff. I've made all trims Flight Mode dependent. Once I get the MSPEED I'll set that up with a vocal readout by tilting the tranny (I don't want to even blink at +/- 125mph). Auto brown trouser bicycle clip tensioning mix active... Will the FunJet end up in a bin by Christmas...?? I do not know what an ar smoothflite is. It is not a jeti device. If it accepts Jeti Exbus then it can connect to a jeti rx
