I'm really glad they like and enjoy Romanian food and not just mici but the rest of traditional specialities : ribs, polenta with cheese & sour cream, sarmale, pork fat bacon, from there table was only missing some pickles.. some tourist like others eat what are they used to in they 'r country but is good that tourist people like the Romanian cooking style..

During the fall and beginning of winter, there's a lot of thick fogs so Transylvania will look spooky and different than in the summer. You should try going on a hike in the mountain side, in summer. The nature is absolutely beautiful and ciorba hits just right once you get to the cabin in top. Not to mention the feast after a full hike day ends.

Fun fact: the cabbage was what's called "Cluj-style cabbage", which is exactly like the sarmale, only the meat and rice are mixed with the cabbage instead of being wrapped in it.

The Sarmale also comes in vine leaves wrapping. It's less common than the cabbage ones, but still delicious. Even better than the cabbage ones, in my opinion. And of course, with sour cream on the side.

Best Romanian restaurant in Bucharest is called IRISA. They do everything in house, use bio chickens that are grew by them and the taste is like eating at grandma’s house. So authentic! Also a hotel if you would like to spend some nights in so called little Paris. Bucharest is lovely.

Hi there, glad you enjoy romanian food. It is tasty indeed. One thing I would like to tell you: sarmale do not have potatoes in. There are: minced meat, chopped onion, rice (a certain type that is a bit sticky), dill, thyme.... no potatoe😊

OMG I love how excited Ivana was with ciorba de burtă at min 7:00 !! And I'm glad you're finally back in Romania :) I heard some of the buildings in Piața Victoriei in Timișoara were renovated (the ones leading to the Orthodox Cathedral), so it's even more beautiful than when you visited last time! And Oradea is so beautiful too with its art nouveau architecture. I don't know if it was in your plans but I recommend visiting Cazanele Dunării (Danube's Big Boilers) near the Serbian border... it's very underrated yet extremely bewitching.
