I got a 1970 Mk 3 Cooper S for my 21st birthday .It was one of the last made. It cost my parents just over one thousand quid. Wish I still had them and the Cooper. 😪

I worked on these cars when they were new at a PDX BMC dealer and these were always my favorites, hands down. Nothing more fun & rewarding to drive than a 1275 Cooper S!!!

I can;t count how many times I've watched this video!?! I am lucky enough to be the custodian of a 1965 Cooper S. Life is good!

It's a synchro box. There is absolutely no need to blip on upshifts. All you're doing is hurting the clutch.

My dad had a Mini when I was a kid. I think it was a model 1963/1964. I remember some unique things about it. The starter was a rubber bottom on the flour behind the gear shifter. The blinker as you see in this car blinks green when active. The doors opened from the inside with a strap mounted to the door. Now this beautiful car is coming to Rfactor 2 [sim] and I simply can’t get my arms down.

Awesome car! And they also made an even rarer, but perhaps not as desirable, 1967 Austin Cooper S Mk II export with production figures of 247 (page 70 in your book). The Mk II also went from old English white to snowberry white, I'm just saying. You have made that care awesome! Nice job Jet Motors!

The only complaint are the double throttle pumping when changing gears. It’s horrible, like the chasing scene with Steve Mac Queen in “Bullit”.

I drive a 98 JCG cooper s with 1430cc, 6 speed JK gearbox and 110bhp on tap. I'd love an original but mine would eat the old ones alive...no point. Mines a usable car that you'd be scared to take the old car out and max it out

Superb car, but what a pity that it does not have its original steering wheel and seats !!! Even though your modern steering wheel is very nice and your modern seats are from Newton Commercial with almost original fabric and color, these parts have nothing to do in an authentic 1967 Austin Mini Cooper S !!! Same thing for your retractor seat belts !!! What a bad taste !!! If Alec Issigonis saw this, he would turn in his grave !!!

Perhaps not original, but authentic: in the sixties they’re absolutely what we would have fitted to the car. The fixed backrest seats were ‘…orthopeadically designed to give you back ache…’ and the original big wheel was a pain on the windy back roads where these cars were made to rule. Lovely wee car.
