Make sure that the ink is completely dry (15-20 mins). Also, the clam shell press has less pressure at the top because of the hinge, so place it like he does, top of the shirt at the bottom of the press. That works for me.

@urbanswagaddict
@urbanswagaddict 6 жыл бұрын
raymond cabadin lol. I would say learn it all but start with the simple methods of printing, which I believe is heat transfer paper. Definitely look into Heat transfer vinyl (I did a video without saying you know) on how that works and showed a few examples. If you get a chance check it out. I like vinyl because it's a clean process and can be done in limited space. Glitter vinyl is really popular and has a high demand. It's my go to

Actually very useful info, I've been wanting to print my own transfers and wondered how you did it. But I want to print onto dark garments and cutting around the printed part of the transfer to avoid the white background being printed on the dark shirt is the challenge. Apparently one can use a vinyl cutter which I have, but I've frankly hardly used that so don't how to do that cutout procedure yet. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼🙏🏻

I use an officejet 7612 series hp printer. I've had it for about 3 years and works pretty good. even better I recently ran across off brand ink cartridges on amazon with total cost for cym and black xl for $22 bucks total. on the heat press side there so many and I suggest go for nothing smaller than a 16x20. the one in the video is a power press and costed a little over $300. @urbanswagaddict

don lee it's just for light colored and it does hold up well in the washer when applied right. 3g jet opaque is the name for dark colors

Yes it's lots of temp space you can use when doing the cold peel method. I've done 350 up to 375 getting pretty much the same results

Thinking about making team shirts (4 people) for a weekend event, but was looking to use like a heather or charcoal gray. Can you explain why this only works for light colours? like If I had 0 white parts on what I wanted printed, wouldn't it be fine? I inherited a Tshirt heat press and wanted to do hobby things with it.

Heather gray can work. The reason it want show up on darker colors well is because it has no base white to separate the ink of the design. It's like a transparent underlay. If your image is darker than the shirt you print it want show up. Ash, sport and Heather gray should be just fine. It will have a vintage like look

Thanks for this video. I have been having problems with the hot peel, so I am going to try the cool peel. What size is the heat press that you used in this video?
