What was your motivation for replacement? You only went from six to eight amp hour. Was the stock battery giving you problems? Why not jump to 10? I appreciate the series. Thanks.

Just to show how to replace the battery. I used the 8 amp battery as it would fit in the provided space without modification. Later video showed how to mount an external battery.

For the charging port do i need to solder i thought the battery comes with the charging port so couldnt i just remove the stock one and stick that one through the hole

The charging port is included with the new battery, just route it to the existing hole and install

@@thomas3417 I use the battery in different configurations between different scooters and e-bikes. I use a different configuration. It all depends on what the 20 ah battery comes with.

Excellent video series Joe! What should I consider about the battery specs so that I don’t fry the controller? Do I have to match the mA rating if I try a 20 amp battery?

36 volts battery pack. extra amp hour battery will just increase your range, You might want to add a switch if you add an external battery., along with the internal battery. But make sure the 20 amp hour battery has the same dimensions as the stock battery.

no, there is a speed limiter on the bolt pro. You would have to change the controller to a higher amp controller to increase the speed,

@@bjbrunetti I have not tried this, but from the folks who have the Bolt without the pedals have indicated you must change the controller.

Hey Joe, I have a question / request not related to this video. My mom was given a norditrack gx 2.0 without a power adapter. We had miscellaneous adapters around the house but accidentally plugged in the 12 volt instead of 6 volt adapter. I started to smell something on the board so I unplugged it right away. After plugging in the correct 6 volt adapter, everything worked except the resistance. I took it apart and started at the resistance motor. I gave it 6 volts and it ran just fine. I then looked at the circuit board and by using the continuity function on my dvom, found the chip that sends power to the blue and yellow wires on the resistance motor to be fried. All the chips on this board have different part numbers and I was hoping you still had that gx 2.0 from that article you posted about building the makeshift resistance controller. I was wondering if you'd be willing to take a look at the specific chip I need with a magnifying glass and give me that part number on that chip. I'd do it myself, but I can't make out the part number because the exterior of the chip melted. I found a website that sells the micro chips, and would like to solder the new one in and see if I can make this a .69 cent fix. I stumbled across this web page by Google searching one of the other chip's part numbers that I was able to read. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I'd hate to see this machine get thrown out because I'm not spending $300 on a controller either. Regards, Matt

Hey Matt, Mine was fried as well and I threw that board away ages ago. That is why I created the video on directly controlling the friction motor. Sorry, That chip could be a replaceable chip or it could be a processor, Which requires programming. The company would not give you their code if it was. Your best bet is to do what I did. Sorry I could not be of anymore help.

Hi joe I have a question can I put 48 v battery into the jetson bolt pro and I have think about increasing my Speed on my jetson pro like 30-45 Km . I rather putting 36v battery.

You can either change the speed controller, the stock speed controller has a speed limiter. Of you can replace the battery to a 48 volt, but then you have to replace the speed controller with a 48 volt controller.
